would say it'll be held on by some bolts to undo under the lid. I'll go and take a few pics if you want?

Image

6 10mm plastic nuts holding it on all are through the bigger holes on the lid.

note the rubber bumper on the right.

best of luck.
there's been a thread on here about painting them with a link to a youtube vid of rubber airbrushing

not to sure how this paint will perform on a spoiler but couldn't for see any major probs. worth asking a good painter about a non crack lacquer if on exists.

best of luck.

Just went and had a look and by the looks of things my spoiler hasnt been bolted down? its a 318is so i know it wasnt factory fit but still (only had the car for four days.). Any advice on removal now? i may try and source an original is spoiler but i do like the m tech2 so i wanna try and keep it.

oh blooming eck its not been glued has it?

get name, address of previous owner and give them a big slap just how hard is it to fit a few nuts.

Best of luck fella, if it is glued down its gonna be messy removing it.
Would solvents destroy the paintwork?
may be worth asking in the care and detail section about removing glue from a pannel.
Fingers crossed its some type of double sided tape.

Ahhh it looks like its been glued...... annoying. It wasnt fitted by the previous owner. I reckon its been on the car for a long time. Do you reckon i could sort the spoiler whilst its still on the car? as i do like the spoiler, just thought it would be easiest to remove it to do the job.

just mask up over the boot (best to cover the sides and back as well) as doing it on the car won't be ideal but at least its not going to move around at all when you do it.

Get plasticised paint from BMW in your colour or it'll crack eventually. The black bits can be done with plasti-dip quite nicely. :)

leave it on and mask it out thats all you can do, apart from destroying your bootlid
