Ok, I did a search on this and couldn't find anything... I know it must be on here... but as I said I can't find anything.
Firsty the E30 M3 cluster, is it possible to use in an M20... granted it's got a 2.9lt stroker... which would be nice for the speedo that goes to 260km/h. Another thing is I like the oil temp guage in the cluster.. which I would like to use cause then my center mounted pod can use the Water Temp, Fuel Pressure, and Oil Pressure.
What I want to know is will the Tach still work ? or will it need to be re calibrated, and then how hard is it too wire up the oil temp guage.
Then the next question, my electric windows... somethign weird is happening here. When my doors are closed the windows wont work... but as soon as I open one of the doors u can open and close them at will... also something I noticed when the doors r closed the lights on the window switches don't work as well as the cabin lights ?? I'm really confused as to what it is? Cause I'm not really clued up on the electrical systems on cars... I thought it might be a grounding issue ? ... but as I said I'm not clued up.
Thanks
Steve

M3 cluster can be used, and yes you will need a box of tricks to re-calibrate the tacho. You will also need a additional oil temp sensor to.
I believe E30Adam and Ian332isport have both done this.
The pin switches mounted on the door posts have 2 wires going to them, chances are one of them is faulty.
Unscrew and remove the pin swithes and check the connections.

I'm sure that there must be a factory oil temp sensor that I can buy ? that won't need any modding ? one with a kind of dual outlet

For the windows - nothing weird with what your car is doing.
Windows (and roof) use a completely different supply with the doors open (fuse 28), frow what they use with the doors closed and the ignition on (fuse 17).
Your problem is probably nothing more than a blown fuse 17, (30A).
