What's best for a switchable sports box when you stop at the lights?
Brakes on in D
or
Straight into N?
N or D when idling?

Auto's are for lazy people so I doubt it'll do any harm... they can't expect someone to buy an auto and have to keep putting the handbrake on and into N
(This was said in jest - I drive a switchable auto (at the moment))

I've never put an auto E30 into Neutral at lights. If I'm in a queue of traffic for a while I'll put it into Neutral. Never had any probs.

If I ever to get bored of keeping my foot on the brake at lights I usually stick it back in park.
I believe autos don't like being revved up when in N

Any damage from running it at 5500 rpm whilst in P (and warmed up) ?Andyboy wrote:Leave it in D. Idling in N or P on older 4HP22's doesn't do the forward clutch pack much good and revving is an absolute no-no.
