installed this kit 3 months back..
nice throaty sound after 4K rpm, but needed a complete CAI intake plumping..otherwise it will suck lots of engine heat..

more to come:
the restrictive 'barn door' AFM will be replaced with a Split Second ARC2-A
port & polish head with Comatics gasket
a good cams (probably Hi-Ops)
a well set exhaust..
with a wild chip (probably, Mark D )
so this will the maximum i can squeeze out of M42, i guess.
any comments ...????

If you change the cams then even a wild chip won't run properly. Most likely you'll need to get the ECU mapped specifically to suit your needs, which will probably yield slightly better results than a mass produced chip anyway, certainly with better cams.
Not saying chips are bad, m'kay? just that small differences mean a car-specific remap can sometimes give slightly better results. (I want to chip mine!)

Alex, Dantha, ollie..
IS is just only my daily drive in summer..
check out M30 thread of my m30 swap and using it as my weekend drift...
JWaller,
thanx for pointing out the possible troubles with CAM/chip combination..at first i'll go for the 'split-second' MAF.

Sounds like a load of aggro and shekels for 150 bhp ?
As you are in Kuwait and petrol is virtually free, and if you want an E36 , why not drive a 328 ?

Get a 328i. 193 BHP standard. Also comes with the 6 pot sound and refinement.
