I think that there should be more than 12 cars to pick from.
If someone prefers E30 convertibles, for example, then they could just have pictures of convertibles, or sports models, or M3's etc the list could go on and on.
TBQH, I wouldn't have admin or mods cars on unless they were really something special like Ians and Iain's cars. This would allow more member's cars to be used and this would look better too.

Anyway, who's going to do it...?
Lizzie seemed quite keen as it was her idea, perhaps she might like to do it?

lizzie good point on mods cars but adams 2.8 is a fuckign work of art imho
personanly i think dominitry, if he is up for it, should pick 12 cars from his collection, include pics of engien bay etc an obviosuly the car cos he clearly has more knowledge abotu picture quality etc than us
also less hastle that way an a much better result imho
just my two cents

That is the million dollar question. I could do it, but I think that it should probably be left to someone who has expertise in design.
I think that there should be a list of cars and they could all be put to a poll, this way we get a calendar that is designed by demand.
Which Adam are we referring to?
If you are referring to Adam on the E30zone team then including both Ian/Iain's cars then you would have 25% of the calendar being attributable to the E30zone team and I don't think that this would be fair to the rest of the members.

Okay, so we should make a list of 20 or so cars, then everyone vote for the 12 they want. Leave it running for a couple of weeks or so then take what the result is and run with it.
Getting close to 2006 already!

Thing is, not all the cars listed could have good enough pictures, its a tough one.

I imagine most people use a direct link to forums via book mark anyway mate, i know i do, i check the main site every other day.318-is wrote:perhaps that is the best idea
perhaps replace the current pole on the homepage too as its been there ages, plus that way it would attract more attention??

If we go to the Donny show, you could set up a photo session... if you're coming and not too busy. Maybe we could arrange for the 'photo-worthy' cars to come along purely for this purpose...
Just an idea...
Lizzie, what about the sigs? What had you got in mind...? They are only lo-res images. no good for printing out.

Would be better to have something other than houses, or buildings.
lol
i was using it as an example hun.
its a cracking shot of several e30's together.
that way more than just 12 cars can be used.

To print out a decent image, they need to be AT LEAST 20cm square at 150dpi. Any lower than this and there's no point in using the image... I'm sure Craig will agree with me as this being the minimum spec to use...

I'm afraid Photoshop skills aren't very useful for producing layouts and artwork generation... You need a vector based program, like Freehand, to produce the artwork for a PDF document... then they can be scaled up to whatever size you require without any distortion / pixelation.
Bugger... am I talking myself into doing this calendar thing? Oh well...
Best get my diary out and make sure I get all the dates right...
Oh, and talking of sigs... Sorry I haven't been doing any lately... busy. busy, busy... can anyone who's asked me to do them PM me and I'll get on with them... sorry!

Okay... how about making this even simpler...
We could release a new calendar page every month as a desktop image, say a maximum of 1600 x 1200 down to an 800 x 600 image. Then we don't have to worry too much about large image sizes...
This way there's not a mad rush to get the whole calendar ready for the New Year...
Also, thought about doing E30Zone wallpapers too... a definite Craig photography skill involvement!

That sounds like a brilliant idea!
WRT Signatures - I just like the montages that you do - makes just a simple photo of a car look far better, even though we are talking about E30s!

A Mod would have to... I have no knowledge of this
Craig, the wallpaper thingy is cool as you've already got some decent shots of E30's on your puter, and when we need more, it gives us / you time to take some more fantastic photos...
