Sorted the whole plug thing, i tried using my own eyes and it worked a treat.
However, as per usual with my car, nothing is ever quite so simple.
My preFacelift Car has no pins 8 or 9 in its engine loom. Instead there are three wires exiting engine loom near the ECU plug that come straight from the ECU. They come from ECU pins 11, and 21. They plug into a three pin plug and these two wires disappear up behind the dash. However with these two there is a third wire that is green, that doesnt come from the ECU, it comes from down the sensor end of the loom somewhere.
This green wire connects to a thicker green/red wire and goes into a black box, stuck to my ECU, with a BMW sachs sticker, i think its all OBC gubbins.
I know pins 11 and 21 are my feeds for rev counter and mpg gauge. So just need the relevant wires from my Facelift loom. But which wire on the 1.3 loom replaces the green one?
On a separate note, at the ecu plug end of my facelift loom are two connectors, in them are the following wires:
black/grey ecu pin 40
violet/grey ecu pin 41
green/lilac (or) grey colour - runs to sensor end of loom dont know where
Red/blue - ecu pin 42
brown ecu pin 33.
These wires have been cut at some point and im curious as to what they are for.
Logic suggest the unknown green/lilac wire on my facelift loom take the place of my green wire in the pre facelift loom, but can anyone confirm this?
Much appreciated, thanks
