I've been thinking about it for a while now and I would love to have a calendar that is just of E30's - especially of the E30zone members' cars. You know the sort of calendar I'm thinking of - the ones where you have a complete picture on one sheet and then the calendar dates on another page, so when you hang it up you get both the picture and the dates too. I wanted to do one when I was on the E30zone team but never got any go aheads, so now I can put it to the members what they think of the idea.
If you are going to vote, please also place a comment too to back up your decision behind your voting.
Just one of the great ideas that have/had got for the E30zone.
Thanks

That is exactly my point - I am fed up of seeing crap car calendars - the BMW mags hardly ever put any great looking E30's in their annual free calendars.SCOTT325SE wrote:i get sick of seeing chavved up e36's on calanders, so hell yea, id love to see an all-e30 one!
Just think of the resources from the picture galleries - there are some beautiful looking cars from all the model ranges - you could include the unmodded cars up to the highly modded cars, such as Ben's one.
All that would be needed in the way of costs is the printing charges, after all the zone doesn't need any running costs now that it is being hosted for free. It was only when the zone was on the old host that running costs needed to be found.
E30's Rule - Old Skool Cool!!
All that is needed is the owner's permission to have their car photos. Or even getting together and hosting a photoshoot - that way we could really get different shots of the cars. Perhaps even having multi-shots of the cars.

I would love to produce a calendar but the zone has no funds to produce one. This is why I am keen to get the stickers moving so that we can get a little money in the kitty to pay for more merchandise such as things like calendars and also the items suggested in cotty's thread.

how about maybe people sending 1 or 2 quid via paypal to contribute to the running of the site? i`m sure most of the regular zoners would happily do so, just an ideaE30Adam wrote:I would love to produce a calendar but the zone has no funds to produce one. The shop is not really anything to do with the zone. It's run by an independant company and all profits go to that company. It's merely a service we are offering and make nothing out of it. Absolutely zero!craigieeb wrote:what about the zone shop adam? you/the zone not making any money from that?E30Adam wrote:I would love to produce a calendar but the zone has no funds to produce one. It's a good idea.
Would have to be left to the discretion of just a couple of people though. As a designer I always get VERY frustrated when everyone seems to think they have ideas on how things should look, what images to use, etc. Best off not leaving it open to everyone to 'design' - Just look at the mess with the stickers, and that's just a small thing!
It's not too much trouble to get the artwork together to be honest. Prices from printers would also be easy to get, but I would say a small run of 500 would be quite costly. Numbers need to reach 1,000 at least to get anywhere near a decent price per unit. Are there 1,000 members willing to fork out for an E30Zone calendar...? I very much doubt it. I think you'd be lucky to move 50...
Just my input as a graphic designer of 12 years...
Giles.

What about produce the calendar and then allow it to be downloaded from the site and let members print them off themselves. Perhaps have it in A4 format etc, or any size that would be easy to print out.
Then there would be no charge at all and members can print out what they want. Perhaps a pick and mix of pictures. Let members choose which cars they want in whatever month they want.
This is just a rough idea. At least this way the members can have a say in which cars they want in their calendar!!

That would be really cool.
We could have a title of the calendar as Old Skool Cool Calendar!!
I believe that this would go down well and people could do what they wanted with it.

There would need to be set formats for the car - perhaps a full size picture and then along the bottom you could have smaller pictures of wheels, interior, ICE, engine bay. A bit like this http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... lizzie.htm (just the pictures, of course!!)

So... a list of 12 E30's that everyone would like to have on a calendar...
I'll give a few that I'd like to have on... in no particular order
Jon's M3 Evo
Adam's 2.8
Bootyman's machine
Daryl's M3
Andy's 335i Touring
BillGates' Sport
Simon's M3
Player 6's racer
Steve's Touring
Andy's Motorsport
Ian's Hartge convertible
BMK's M3 convertible
Dave's (now sold) convertible
Ians 332i's Sport
Ianh35's hartge h35
The list goes on...
Agree... Craig's photo's are a must. You got lots of hi-res stuff to use?
Edit: just added the other two... 15 already. See how difficult it would be to just run out 12!!!
