As the title with the following:

1989 325 Sport II

Looking to 'daily' with the occasional 'ring or track day.
Like to drive 'enthusiastically' most of the time.

Any inputs or thoughts on the choices available are welcome,

Thanks!

H&R are normally recommended.

Hello again Rav!

Can you tell I've got a broken foot and so am spending a lot of time on here?!?

Gives me the chance to change a couple of bits and bobs on the car whilst I can't drive...

:)

Is there much of a price difference?

Comparable on price but the B12 aren't standard. I think the B12's use H&R springs now too, hence why I'm thinking that the H&R might be better as their shocks will be better tuned to their own springs...?

I,m currently using the H and R Cup Kit 60/40 drop on my sport which i purchased brand new. Its been on the car about 3000 miles and must say its a great bit of kit. Car handles really well around corners and looks spot on.

The car I find is too low for driving over spped bumps. I really have to slow dow over them and after a while it can get annoying. As a result I have been contemplating going back to original mtec set up but have been put off by the price tag quoted by BMW.

I've had a B12 kit which came with Eibachs on mine for 2 years now, couldn't recommend it enough. It doesnt really lower it that much but thats why i went for that kit, didnt want my Sport dragging its ass along the road.

i've done a fair few drift days at Oulton and 2 trips to the Ring and its been great. Its nice to drive round the streets, speed bumps not a problem but when you get it on track, it firms up well.

There are two sets on here that look as though they'll fit my car. I would rather the -35mm kit but will that definitely fit?

Trying to contact someone who isn't a telesales person as whilst they are as helpful as they can be they don't really know so far...

h+r ride great and handle well but i have had to replace 3 shocks within 30 k of normal driving as such I cant recommend the cup kit but maybe I have just been unlucky.

Hmm. Leaning back towards B6 and Eibach or B12's then, but I think there is a great debate about the B6 vs B8 and to be honest, it confuses me.

Might just leave it in the hands of the guys at Fritz...

I had a cup kit on my iS for about a week or so and it was shite in comparison to the B8s and Eibach springs I have now (which are essentially a B12 kit)

With the Cup kit, the car sat at 40/60 too rather than 60/40

Cheers guys! Think the Bilsteins are a go. The guys at Fritz have advised B6 with Eibach...

HAHA, cheers shim,

yeah, thats what i was after, loads of speedbumps where i live and seeing as it'll spend most of the time negotiating them rather than smooth and flat racetracks, thought it was the best choice.

6 cylinder kit on a 4pot is why

cupkit rules. even better with B6/8 dampers instead of the boges they come with
