Best products / routine for cleaning Royal Blue metallic

I have recently aquired a Royal Blue metallic Touring, and was hoping someone could advise me on the best products and routine for keeping it clean, and hopefully minimizing some very fine white scratch marks.

I am not some kind of car cleaning obsessive, so am looking for value for money products that produce noticeable results.

your best bet is going to halfords becuase they have buy one get one free on all cleaning chemicals at the mo, dont even think the tinternet can compare to that.

i bought the three step meguires cleaning stuff. step 1 is like a mild t cut, step 2 is polish and step 3 is wax, did mine the other day and its is bloooody shiny now.

just got the auto glym interior spray stuff, used it and its pretty pointless, shouldve got some posh car shampoo instead

Get some Auto Glym stuff from Halfords, Dont buy that Meguires spray polish as it gets everywhere.

Just wondered if anyone had good words to say about coloured polishes for diminishing the look of fine scratches?

No problem. Auto glym super resin polish followed by a wax or sealant will enhance the look
of your ride [ the car that is] lol

If there are a few surface scratches i would get it machine polished first this will give you a real clean new layer of paint to start from.
Then its just a case of keeping on top of it with any of the products mentioned above.

I couldnt believe how good my chromie can up after i machine cut it

Products I've had experience of...

Meguiar's Stage 1 Paint Cleaner - decent for prep work actually. Removed oxidisation and marks from the paint. Gets rid of very minor scratches.

Meguiar's Scratch X - Very decent actually at getting out a fair amount of superfical scratches. Used with much success, esp in areas such as under the handles which bear the brunt of peoples' nails/rings.

Autoglym Super Resin Polish - Easy to apply but needs >30 mins before it can be buffed off. If followed by AG Extra Gloss - very decent finish and surprisingly hard wearing.
