Hi there zoners,
I am just in the research stage at the moment, was wondering if any of you could help me.
In the near future I am planning to re spray my E30 the same colour well not exactly the same but a better sharper whiter white if you catch my drift lol
Looking at different white colours and so far the 2 that i personally think look best are the new
BMW E92 M3 White
&
Audi S5
Are there any other white paint colours out there that are in your opinion better then the above 2.
All help is much appreciate

As silly as it sounds one of the most pure whites i have seen is the one on the new ford transit vans, i'm thinking of using this on mine along with a white pearl to give it a metalic effect

It is also much brighter than you might think when it is in good condition. A good polish can have it popping out at you - but keep it well waxed/sealed or it'll soon slide back to that cream colour. Mine did
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap

If you want to keep it white and stop it from dulling I suggest you C.O.B the car... That is clear over base... This is how almost every car is painted these days. In the older days only metalics where painted this way, but today almost all of them are done this way.
So before you would just spray out the colour and be done with it.. C.O.B means it gets a white base coat (not shiny) then a protective clear coat over that.

+1. It's whiter than you think, unless you've recently seen a resprayed one if that makes sense.B7 wrote:Alpine white 11. It's what it was and what it should be

I recently did the same hunt for a bright white, I kept to BMW colours but if you look into the pigments mixed in with the white you can quite quickly reduce your choice to the one you prefer.
Suggest you do the following get a shortlist of say 5 you prefer.
Then check the mix of pigments for each of them use the glasurit site or similar, or alternatively a local paint shop will be able to print the mixes off for you for the brand of paint they use.
For example AlpinWeiss has different mixes over the years hence the 2 and 3 versions not too mention the different paint types.

I've just got a new Ford Focus painted in Frost White. After a polish, you need need sunglasses its so damn white.
Ford used to use Diamond White which is an off white, kind creamy. My paint guy told me there were over 30 different shades of Diamond White
