Howdi, not too long ago I converted the car from 1.6 to a 2.5 I took the engine gearbox loom ecu etc etc from a family mobile and mated it into my car, all is working ok but I seem to be away down in the power, original sports just poo all over me and its quite frustrating. I take it the sport gearbox and the brain are what would make the difference??

Another thing when I give her a bit it makes serious rattlin and knocking about from under tunnel lift foot off and all goes quiet i suspected the diff to begin with but had it checked and its fine, now thinking along the lines of gearbox mounts or propshaft bearings?

Cheers

Have LSD  I went down under an hadda nosey and the gearbox is quite wobbly, its doing my head in as the exhaust is mounted on to it and it is causing quite a bit of thumping off the underside of the car, If i took a pic of my diff would u be able too tell?? How i fix this?

Dont have the sports box no, that one of my downfalls, never used my brain and put it in at the start and had one lying for ages, got good money for it tho, hard come by!

Was under the impression that sports had identical management to 325i's of the same age.

To be honest mate I just don't think they are that fast, lovely to drive, loads of torque and a fair bit of pull higher up but they are never gonna set the world on fire without some serious tweakage. I have a sport and it is a bit slow IMO.

Aye I know what ya mean but even still it should have a bit more in it...

Found out the noise, the 3 Bolts connecting the prop too G/Box were bother, 1 was not there, 1 was rung an last one was holdin on by a thread. he also said this happened to him before, I am now thinking that the shaft could be slightly bent and vibrating them loose could this be the case? Also when I looked the other night he had only put in 2 feckin wheel nuts on the rear the spoon! :x
