Following on from the recent thread, has anyone had a problem fitting a genuine BMW deflector?

I bought one off fleaby. It was advertised as being genuine BMW but I was a bit unhappy because it didn't 'sit' properly over the rear seats and a consequence it was starting to chew up the side panels. So, I bought a new one and have the same problem. it seems that the interior of my car is a mite too narrow.

My motor is a 1987 325i

Bought a second hand genuine BMW wind deflector including bag from a BMW enthusist on Ebay. It fitted perfectly. Front clips in place via spring loaded clips in the upper seat belt slot, and the rear is held in place on both sides by the closed horseshoe. Seemed very simple and a perfect fit on my 'J' reg 325i convertible.

could be that someone has had the rear side panels out and not refitted them properly..the panels have to fit tight to the glass to be correct ...I found this when i had mine off to take out the seatbelts

Thanks folks.

I was curious as to whether it was an issue with pre-facelift cars. I will look at the side panels.

The deflector has to be pulled back to tension the springs, there's a plastic tab that fit's under the horseshoe, needs to be pulled back to get it right.

Good suggestion! The O/S side panel wasn't fitted properly. Wind deflector now fits perfectly.
