First off, welcome to the Zone :thumb:

No idea where to get the clutch pack from. There are specialists out there who rebuild LSDs.

When you say the wheel stops and starts spinning, are you sure thats what its doing?

From the thread title you said its 'jumpy' so I would look at your rear suspension first. Could be the rear shock mount has given up. Both of mine broke and I had the rear wheels jumping under hard acceleration/wheel spin.

You will need to replace both and using the E46 M3 Cab rear shock mounts is a common upgrade for the E30.

BTW - Writing with Caps lock is considered shouting on forums by some people.

Quaife ATBs are ace imo, but not as good as the BMW ZF LSD unit for drifters, because they never actually lock.

I've not found anywhere that supplies clutch packs, but you can use Ford Atlas clutch packs. (These are Ԛ£120 a set, but you get 4 plates instead of just 2.)

Why does everyone put e46 rear top mounts on e30's?

I keep seeing/hearing that people have done this, I just wanna know the advantage!

Let me know...

Cheers dudes

Thanks for the welcome and the cap letters tip, e30 zone is A1. Will have a look at the mounts and maybe replace them anyway as i'm installing powerflex bushes all round soon. when it starts to jump its like the wheel is slipping and then getting grip if you get me. Is there much to fitting the e46 mounts or do they drop straight in.

Sounds like the wheel is actually jumping or skipping off the ground when its spinning, like mine were.

The E46 mounts are a direct replacement for the E30 ones.

'...when it starts to jump its like the wheel is slipping and then getting grip if you get me. ...'

are the tyres the same (make/depth) on both sides of the car? (call me old fashioned)

'Tramping'? (Allowing movement in the mountings, that 'springs' on and off.)

thanks for the replies lads but its not so much that the wheel is bouncing but the car sort of lunges fwd in jumps, like your having a bad day on and off the clutch. so it feels like the wheel is spinning like it should and then gets grip which pushes the car forward then looses traction spins again and give this car lunging forward feeling. sorry for the long thread but hard to put words to you.
