I have one,mine's a genuine BMW one that I bought s/h from a zoner.
I would not be without it.Enables me to listen to Classic FM whilst travelling hood down at 85mph on my private road.
Whilst on zone roam I loaned mine to Grant, both he and Stella were amazed and impressed at the difference the thing made.Loose paper bits placed in the oddment tray forward of the gearstick stay in place, you can even hear your passenger telling you to slow down(perhaps that is a neg...)
I was advised to buy only a genuine item as the copy one's are not quite as rigid.

To me, the BMW original ones are better made, and more rigid, and cover the contours of the back seat better.
They always seem to be available on ebay.de, but prices have crept up to 200 euros at the moment, perhaps when the summer is over they'll come down a bit?
With sellers on ebay.de, check they will ship international, they often don't, and that the deflector has no holes, and preferably has its original case. Wind deflector = Windschott in German. Better still, find one in the Cologne/Bonn area and drive over there to collect and pop in to the Nurburgring for a circuit!

There was a chap at last weeks German Car Show, thinks his name is Wayne.
Anyway he was showing me a wind deflector from an E36, that he had made very small
and simple alterations to. Fitted his Burgenrot Cap perfectly, these seem to go for far less
than E30 ones.

True, but how many times do you expect to carry more than one passenger?Blitz wrote:The problem is it only works for the front passengers.
A few seconds see's it off and stowed in the boot
I keep mine installed even with the hood up,stops the nosey seeing what has been left on the rear seat and in the rear footwells!

Sorry to drag up an old posting, from the pic on this site can anyone confirm how the rear fixings work.

Only buy the OEM part, not the copies! Make sure it is "mit tasche", that is with the bag that protects it when you store it away. Prices in Germany went up last year, and with post can be £200 now. Why not see what Cotswold can sell them for, and get a new one?

The bag is made out of black cloth. I was given my genuine wind deflector free of charge by a friend without the bag, I borrowed his to have as a template, took it to a seamstress, who made one for me for 4 Euro
you cannot tell the difference between the two.
I only use the deflector in the winter on the motorway. With the windows up and the deflector in place cruising at 70/80 mph is very comfortable, no buffeting at all, and no moaning from the pass seat about the hairdo... all this with the temperature up to 20degrees C which is normal temp in the winter. At the end of March it goes back in the bag not to be seen until November again, an evening drive with the temp at 30 degrees and the roof/windows down is something to be enjoyed even with the buffeting.
When I am on my own, I don't use it as I like the windows down(drop dead gorgeous these chromies) this way.

There is a few sites on the web that do padded bags for the template/copy deflectors that they sell, these should fit shouldn't they? £35 which isn't to bad.
