no problem, i was just thinking of like when bootyman was mod only in the one section (as short lived as it was) i just thought it was a good plan.E30Adam wrote:Lets not complicate things here. These sorts of things will be discussed. At the moment I'm trying to build a winning team to drive the zone forwards and help implement some new ideas and content which will hopefully keep existing members interested and attract new members.billgatese30 wrote:what about giving somone modding rights to just one particular section...i.e. pubtalk/worktime entertainment..........especially if they are frequent to that section, but not necessarily to others such as tech help and e30 chat etc.
but if your looking for more general people to do things in all areas first then fair enough

It was actually a few other members I had in mind. Yourself and Rog contributed well towards the zone and made "good use" of the pub talk sections

i wasnt volunteering myself or saying id like to be a mod.. i wouldnt.
if im on here, i chat, coz im a social person. If i just burried my head in my arse and just asked when i had a problem or was looking for info then it would be rather selfish i feel, so i chat and have a laugh and between us all, we bring a bit of joy to a sometimes boring life, coz, lets face it, life CAN be boring.

That's exactly what the spirit of the zone is all about. I believe some great friendships have been made on this very site by these means!!SCOTT325SE wrote:i wasnt volunteering myself or saying id like to be a mod.. i wouldnt.

Davetouring gets my vote. Clearly knows his stuff, is really helpful and enthusiastic about e30s. Although I've only met very few of the zone (so Im probably not best placed to comment) dave has been really helpful and friendly in sorting out a couple of my e30 issues, and I have no doubt he'd be a good mod in offering useful advice and managing posts etc.Doesn't get caught up in some of the ridiculous 'I know more than you' type battles I've seen going on in some of the forums.
Don't know if you'd even have time or inclination dave, but thought i'd put in my word as a (fairly) long standing member of the zone..............................oh the good old days when it was all green and looked like it was made on an Amstrad...................

Um... well I think that Lizzie should be reinstated, The way she was dropped is just low and "inactivity" is a poor reason, If it was felt to be a problem then it could of been discussed with her and then a descision made, Anyway my point really is that as Lizzie was a founder of the E30zone then as someone with enough interest to get the zone running then surely they have the zones interest at heart and would always be a valid member of the TEAM.
For extra team member's: Simon and Geeman.

Ooooh, a vote for me... I am flattered.
Anyway, may I suggest the following people:
Scott325SE
Simon (formerly Simon325iSport)
AndyP
DaveTouring
Not only do they have vast knowledge of E30's but also spend a lot of time on the Zone and know how it runs smoothly...
For alternative suggestions, I would like to suggest:
Simon 13 (but get's a little confrontational sometimes)
E30Mark (if he has enough time to do so)
It's a tough call deciding on people you'd like to run the Zone... I would love to do it, but just don't have the time to commit to it at present. Would be nice to have someone from 'up-north' involved in it, but I doubt that will happen.

I thought I was already part of the zone
Thanks for the votes, I'd love to be part of the team, personally I think you'd need to be a fairly active member to be part of the team, or it would be pretty pointless?

Exactly, just because Scott and I have our disagreements doesn't mean he wouldn't be a benefit to the team. Scott has been on the zone as far back as I can remember and always makes worthy contributions in his posts.Chaos wrote:it "shouldnt" be about whether adam likes you or not, or whether he agrees with you, but whether or not you can add to the team.SCOTT325SE wrote:FPMSL!!!Geeman wrote: Anyway, may I suggest the following people:

I'd like to nominate Tylerma for moderator
Its not about being an E30 techno guru, its about the ability to see the bigger pricture and fairness, all of which Tylerma can bring I feel
Techno heads are good and all but I'm more intersted in Level heads
something to bear in mind on this discussion topic??

as a spammer as ive been called my oppinion prob dosent count for much
but here go,s
how about adam and the current mods get together and firstly decide on how and what needs moderating, and as suggeted yesterday maybe each section should have specific mods dealing with just there sections??
this way we wnt see any disagreements between mods for 1 thing, also choosing the mods should be easier if they are in 1 section instead of constantly floating around all sections
surely it would be easier to decide whowould be best suited to deal with each section best as its not just about dishing out warnings or deleting posts it should also be about helping the fellow zoners with there questions etc
tell me shut up if you wish but something needs sorting as the zone is changing and it will take a lot of effort to keep it working the way it has upto now,
this is without a doubt the best site i have ever found reg the e30, i just hope it stays that way..

Mods for separate sections has been discussed and won't work. If someone was away for a few days and an inappropriate post was seen in their section by another mod, they wouldn't be able to take action on it. Mods need to have access to all forums so that they can moderate as and when.dazleeds wrote:as a spammer as ive been called my oppinion prob dosent count for much

makes sense but wasnt saying mods couldnt have access to other sections but would concentrate on there own rather than dealing with all and if theres a prob in another section they only have to inform the appropriate mod to deal with the prob
and im sure you could arrange cover quite easily mate
anyway i,m keeping out of this now i have had my say and ultimately only adam can decide these things.
good luck hope you get it all sorted and back to normal soon D

That doesn't make sense. It would be easier for them just to take action rather than contact the relevant mod to get them to deal with it. Just seems a bit "arse about tit" to me.
