im 50/50 on going tips = its very slippy if they wet the track its not about speed! last time i went they had put green and white plastic blocks around the track to stop people from destroying the lawn lol and they do dent your car so be careful. it is a good laugh though.

Yes.... they do dent your car when hitting them, my boot floor took a pasting. Nowt your 18 stone builder mate can't fix tho. :D

They don't really want to wet the track but after a bit some makes of tyre start howling so thats when they soak the tracks. Its a pain but you do get used to it. As punko said, its not about speed, just play with the throttle and you will soon find the balance, then after a bit you will probably start picking up the pace anyway.

I'm going but i dont think i'll be taking part, just got back from the ring and i'm being pestered to do a track day in sept. Meeting up with a load of lads i've got to know though.

I am going and have been on a few at Oulton... It's a low friction surface so as punko rightly points out, it isn't about speed at all, all about throttle balance and being smooth - being low friction means that you won't cabbage your tyres either. Personally I find the days great fun and a real education on how the car breaks away - all good stuff for getting better on the track!

See you there hopefully - mine's the (at the start of the day as the cars get really mucky!)Dolphin Grey F plate 325i Sport with steelies on the back for drifting!

Cheers,

Ello Mike, didnt think you were talking to me then. lol

Yeah mate, defo going but i doubt i'll be drifting, depends how much i shell out on an exhaust. :D Ring was a laugh mate, our phil (nephew) did great in the Octavia RS considering it was his 1st ever time driving on any track. 8O

It'll be good to catch up.
