Hi, I tried to touch up some paint on the tech2 bodykit of my car but the paint reacted and bubbled on one panel. I'm going to try again after degreasing the area, but am not sure how to get the panel back to it's original surface for priming again.

I'm thinking nitromors but am worried about the plastic. is this stuff ok to use on body kits or do i have to sand it back to bare plastic again?

any strong solvent will eat the finish on the panel.

no short cuts, get sanding :cool:

Niromors! Nooooo!

Rub it right back. If there are some dubious old coatings of something on the panel, then there are barrier coatings that can be used to stop paint reacting.

Rub back to the gel coat. Make sure the panel is totally CLEAN. Use very fine coats of primer to begin with, leaving 10-15 minutes drying time in between. Do this three or four times. If there is no reaction, put on a couple of thicker coats. Wait an hour for it to go off before putting on under or top coat (as applicable).

Ha ha, no such chance.
Why do you think it comes in a metal container?? :mad:
It just eats plastic and you'll end up buying new ones :?

Sand it and wipe it over with a rag with some thinners/panel wipe, should stop it reacting.
