We are thinking of recruiting some more team members.
Who do you, the members, think would be worthy of the position.
You are not allowed to nominate yourself or get mates to nominate you either.

OK, here's my twopenn'orth.......
Simon, 320Touring, Brianmoooore, Simon13........ Anyone who's knowledgable (sp?)sensible etc, etc.
End of the day though, it's one thing asking us our opinions, but the nominees have got to want to do it - they may be "honoured", but unable to commit to it for various reasons.
Stuart.

see i think karan is a good choice but i know he would probably say no because of his uni commitments
This is interesting and this is a major change for this place, how it will change it with new people on board i don't know. But mods be sure of your choices and for the right reasons!
We need a good mix of people running this place so the widest spread of opinions can be heard behind the scenes.
To a new a better zone!

probationary period, that sounds like a good idea.glenn wrote:why not let each of the 'willing' candidates have say, a month on the team.
then at the end we could vote on it.
only an idea.
i think that anyone who is considered should have been here over, say, 18 months, or 2 years or something, bit more reliable that way, i suppose

I think that a probationary period would be an excellent idea.
I think that whoever wants to be part of the team should write some words about what they would bring to the team and what ideas that they have. I don't think that a decision should be made on how many posts have been posted or how long that they have been on the E30 Zone.

not neccessarily post count, just time since they registered
as the likes of chris (cuk) and steve (325sme) odn;t have a large a post counts as some, but have been here wuite a while, therefor know the form and know what to expect/what is expected
i also vote for simon/steve, if its going for votes, although i like lizzies idea of the nominees to say what they feel, and what they would add to the team.

i personally wouldnt a job or anyhting but id love to offer a little help here and there if it is needed..... ive been here for a while(from when i had a 4 pot!!!)
i would also like it to be someone who is an old skool zoner from back in the day as they have been here longer and seen more......its not about the post counts!
i think the following people would be good (as well as those who are already mods):
1. Simon (formerly simon325isport)
2. Scott325se
3. AndyP (if hes not too busy)
4. Simon13-i know hes a mate.. but hes intelligent and addicted to the zone(much like e30Adam-LOL)
5. Jesustouring-it doesnt get anymore old skool, but hes off the zone for a while!
Once again my main criteria HAS to be that they should have been herew from when the zone was young... they HAVE to be old skool....
theres my thoughts

Post count is not really an issue as long as it's not stupidly low. It would be preferable to have someone old school but this is not always the case. A prime example of this is Brian. He seemed perfect to add to the team and I'm sure he will do us proud.
There's no good nominating people who rarely frequent the forum because that would be a pointless exercise. Also the nominee must be someone who doesn't use the zone as a chatroom. The majority of posts must be of good informative content and of relevance to the nature of the zone. We have a few member here who like to use the zone as a social gathering. I have no problem with this as long as it's kept in the correct section but such a person would not be ideal material.
Keep those suggestions rolling in.

what about giving somone modding rights to just one particular section...i.e. pubtalk/worktime entertainment..........especially if they are frequent to that section, but not necessarily to others such as tech help and e30 chat etc.

Lets not complicate things here. These sorts of things will be discussed. At the moment I'm trying to build a winning team to drive the zone forwards and help implement some new ideas and content which will hopefully keep existing members interested and attract new members.billgatese30 wrote:what about giving somone modding rights to just one particular section...i.e. pubtalk/worktime entertainment..........especially if they are frequent to that section, but not necessarily to others such as tech help and e30 chat etc.
