hello everyone. i have had a search but cant seem to get it to work properly.
can anyone direct me to some relevant information on converting my 325 touring to manual? or can anyone give me a parts list and some rough instructions on doing the swap?
i have done a manual conversion on an s13 before so i assume i need the box (duh), pedal, slave and master cylinder, prop? any other bits i may need? will the original ecu and diff be ok? and do i have to joint some wires up to disable the auto box sensors, inhibitor switch etc.
hoping to do this pretty soon so any help you can give would be great. thanks.

Manual box
Clutch
Flywheel
Spigot bearing
Gear selector assembly
Master & slave cylinders
Pipe work for the above
Manual pedalbox
Manual propshaft

You don't need to worry about the auto connectors on the loom, just leave them unconnected or do as I did and strip them out. Not 100% about the ECU but think you can just use yours, be worth getting a speedtouch chip in though.

I think you may have contacted my through ebay about my manual gearbox?

when I converted gray325's car to manual I left his own ecu in place I just disconnected all the wiring for the gearbox. you will also need a diff as the ratio on the one fitted will be all wrong. there's also the bracket to hold the gear linkage to the floor.

fitting is really straight forward. old pedal box will unbolt and once you have that out you will see a oval mark on the bulkhead where the master cylinder goes through. this just pops out with very little force. fit the new pedal box run all the pipe work and fit spigot bearing new flywheel ( get a lightened one while your there I can supply these if wanted  ) fit the clutch manual box extra..

This shows the wiring when the glovebox and it's liner is removed.
See the connector just below the main harness?
l/h side is black/yellow,r/h side is black.Trace the black to it;s source, then from that relay back on the 'other' black to a similar connector where you will find a black/yellow.Connect the two black/yellow's together.Remove all surplus wiring connected to the two plain black wires. You will find a relay close to the l/h radio speaker and a connector/switch by the gear selector thingy.
This is the starter inhibit curcuit!

Spigot bearing is just an ordinary ball bearing assembly, and can be bought from many places. Drum bearing from certain Hotpoint washing machines is the right one! Before you fit it, check that it fits the spigot on the gearbox input shaft.
Clutch kit is best bought new ( Luc or Sachs from ECP or GSF) and flywheel can either be from a M20B20 or B25.

i'm in the middle of this conversion at the mo for the spigot bearing i went to a local bearing traders and asked for a 10 mmx 32mmx 12mm
12 mm being the imput shaft size and 32 mm the overall size and 10mm deep the charged me the huge sum of 2 great british pounds cant be robbed :D
the actual mechanical side of the conversion i thought was pretty straight forward bar the lovely weather i've had no really set backs

spigot is about £8 from BMW, why waste time with washing machines!
