hi, just wondered if i could get some opinions, basically i need a new engine (m20b25) and i got a quote off a guy based in essex and it would cost £599 for a re-conditioned exchange unit, and £150 in labor to take my engine out and put new one in so £749 in total, is that a good price?
thanks :D

That´s borderline amazingly cheap
With great challenges comes great engineering.

Indeed !

Decent gasket set, plus shells, bolts ,rings and oil pump would eat that £££ in big chunks.

Rebore, or hone and re-ring only I wonder.

£150 to change the engines over?!
£600 hardly covers the rebuild parts!

if thats all above board then thats a loss leader for sure.

who is this guy? st Frances of e30?

Re-conditioned engine is just that, anyone can do it, it's just someone saying it's ok, it's not a rebuilt engine.
