Kidney grills

The black grills that run across the front either side of the kidney grills on my dads car (sorry don't no what to call them) have faded to a point that they ruin the look of the front, is there anyway to restore them?

i sprayed mine with satin black, just remember to clean and prep them.

you can gently heat them to bring colour back into them

I used autoglym vinyl and rubber car spray on mine. Left it to dry and then buffed them up. They've come up lovely.

Autoglym do a bumper care variant in a squeezy bottle too. Its a green gel, and it brings up plastics an absolute treat!

Autoglym bumper care is fantastic stuff. If they're really far gone, you could satin black them or try Plasti-dip, which I've just discovered coming highly recommended by the US BMW contingent. Apparently the VW guys use it a lot too. It's basically a rubbery paint that comes in a rattle can and gives a matt black, rubberised look, much like original shadowline. If you use it without primer, you can just peel it off if you don't like it, but it's apparently very durable. Much more so than good ol' satin black, they say. I'll be ordering some up in the near future and doing every inch of the shadowline on my car so I'll post some pics up when I do.
