I've got the same problem on mine and it's had new shock's, spring's and all the bushes replaced with powerflex items.

all shocks/springs are fine

you can see the wheel sits differently in the wheel arch

im pretty sure that there is an overflow bottle on the rear end, cant remember what side its on but i can remember its near the rear wheel arches, maybe this has dropped down? failing that try and have a look to see if the plastic sheild has fallen out of place because mine was making a rubbing sound and i though "fcuk me what now" i took it to local machanic and he simply told me that it must have worked its way free and it dropped down just enough to catch my rear tyre and was making a horrible catching sound, further inspection reveiled it was the plastic trim that simply needed to be screwed back up. just have a look dude maybe you have the same problem..... dont know what else it could be, especially with you saying the wheel sits differently, maybe somthing has collapsed??? sorry if none of the above helps but i will try

are the bushes located properly? what about the hubs? Alloys may be of a different ofset!!!!! that may well be it!

m3 alloys, did they have a wider offset at the back to compensate for the wider arch? i dunno , just guessing ;)

yeah the wheels are et20..

the issue is - one side fits fine, the other rubs when you've got a load of stuff/ppl in the car ie v compressed suspension
