Failing that, then get a long wire and conect it to the out put of the realy straight to the pump and see if it works. If it does then run the wire in a safe way including a new fuse and holder and then go and drive
yet another m30 swap

Are you sure ther is no imobilzier that had been fitted that also interupted the fuel pump supply ?

100% there is no break in the wire at all, im sure i can make a simple circuit to get it working but i would rather get it working correctly first.zaust wrote:Are you sure ther is no imobilzier that had been fitted that also interupted the fuel pump supply ?

Getting annoyed now, as all that is left with the manifold, but i dont want to do them until i have given it the non-manifold start-up
Will do what you said tomorrow
Right another problem which maybe linked to the first problem or not
I have done the pin 15 to the starter motor, BUT when i connect the battery the windows and heaters work, whats more the brake light on the dash comes on. But then when i turn the key to position one they dont work anymore! but the brake light on the dash stays lit. Turn the key off again and they work again.
Any ideas anyone?

Good news,
I sent an email to the previous owner and turns out the car did have an immobiliser and he had disconnected it, although not very well, so after ten mins in mission mode i traced the wire to a loose connection under the fuse box. That sort was time for the start-up
sorry had the manifold off, but put them on by the time the camera had charged, but still sounded everbit as good as it had been described. Cannot wait to finish it now.

I'm well happy with the car, just need to find out why the window n heaters have a mind of their own! I bet it's something to do with the alarm again as the guy didn't remove it fully just mashed some wires

Do you mean pin 15 to starter motor? and the pin 8 to pin 3 swap thats all, i dont understand, all i can think of is the alarm is interfering again.Rav335uk wrote:What wires have you changed on the c101 plug???
Have not had a chance to work on the car in a while, but the end is in sight one last problem
The clutch has no feel in it, i have tried to bleed the system n no fluid comes out the bleed valve at all.
When the clutch is depressed it returns back up again, what could be the problem? Slave cylinder?

there is fluid in the filler bottle, but doesnt go anywhere when i try to pump the clutch pedal. it doesn't come out the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder.zaust wrote:Could well be, If there is no signs of fluid anywhere round the master, the filler bottle or pipes, then the slave seal may have gone. They tend to leak into the bell housing. Easy swap and a bit of fluid in there won't cause any lasting damage.

So no loss of fluid ? Get some one to keep pumping and try and bleed it through, If it still stay's the same then either the slave viens are blocked up. Or one of the seals in either the slave or the master has perished but only enough to let pressure out and no visable fluid.
im still having problems with this, there is fluid going to the slave because as i took it off fluid leaked out, there is fluid at the master cylinder too because once again when i removed the bottom bolt fluid leaked out.
the only thing i can think of is when reattaching the slave the rod was pushed back all the way to be able to bolt it onto the gearbox, but when bolted on the rod does not come back out of the slave, what am i doing wrong? is it supposed to be this way?

Sounds like a new one.
Problem with old ones is the fluid leaks past the seal without showing problems

CR24v??? Where's it all gone?? LOL
I changed the clutch slave this morning but i am still having the same problem, here is a video of what the clutch pedal is doing:
When opening the bleed nipple on the clutch slave, there is fluid that leaks out, But when pumping the clutch there is no fluid being pumped through, just trickles out.
When undoing the nut on the bottom of the master cylinder fluid also leaks out of there too.
I just want to be sure before i change the master cylinder that it could be the problem? not something else to do with the clutch itself?
Is there meant to be resistenance when the slave is put on? What i mean is that the rod gets pushed back all the way into the slave?

If it's a new slave, then the only other thing it could be is the Master, it totally looks like there's no resistence at all in the pedal.
One more thing to try is leave the bleed nipple on the slave open for a few hours, let the fluid work its way down, keep filling the the fluid up top and let gravity work.
See what happens then, if that fails, new master.

its was the master cylinder, thanks rav.
took it for a little spin, really happy with the power.
Still need to bleed the system and got an exhaust leak somewhere, possibly where i clamped it up. Thanks for all the help guys

I thought I should finish this tread with some pictures of the car as it is now,
3 last things to do, is install the suspension 60/40 drop, tidy the engine bay up, and a full respray in the future sometime probably in the winter.
