Will take a pic over the week end to show.
if its similar to mine then use lee's method, i did have to do each side 4 times and make little adjustments, it was easier to get the exhaust side in first as i had to massage the inlet to get it to fit around the servo.

all done now :D

Have you got the fuel pipes the right way round??
Check the DME relay too to make sure there is power going to it, and it does "Click" on.

I can hear the "click" but I think you have solved it Rav, not going to get a chance to work on the car again until tomorrow, just looking at some photographs that i have taken and looks like i have put them on the wrong way around :o:
Image
but atleast it should start now thanks buddy

Also i have earthed the engine on the engine mount the bottom one in that picture, would this be okay?

Just make sure you clean any surface rust off first.
I have mine earthed on the alternator bracket.

I tried to start it again but no luck, I had the fuel lines around in the correct way anyways.

I can smell the fuel going to the engine, so thats okay.
it makes all the correct sounds like it wants to start but never does  .

How would i check the DME relay and where is it located? like i said i can hear a buzz from the injectors and the clicking of relays
Anything else it could be?

If you're using the E34 loom, then the DME relay should be white, with another orange relay next to it located around the battery tray, that's where mine are.
Check there is live going to the relay, oh and check the sensor at the front of the engine, if it's dirty, it misht not be sending a signal.

That's the one, the DME relay is the on in white, take it out and check for a live, hopefully no broken wires.
Crank sensor, yes, check that too.

Are you getting a spark???

That's the way it always is, running fine, then when it's been swapped, usually a small problem to get it to run right.

Checking for spark is take of a sparkplug lead, i normally put in a screwdriver in tot he lead, and hold it by the engine rocker cover, turn the car over and see if you get a spark from the screwdriver to the rockercover.
Best to hold it with some shielded pliers, or you'll get a shock!!

Have you swapped all your 3 wires around too in the C101 plug?

There is no fuel coming in, i have removed the pipes and there is no fuel, what could this be?

Try the fuel relay, the one next to the DME.
Is that working?
If not, do you have an immobiliser fitted?

The DME is okay i checked with a voltmeter, i have traced the problem to the fuel pump, as there is no power at this point for some reason?!?

Anyone know what pin it is in the C101 connector that controls the fuel pump?

The engine will run even if you dont swap the wires over on the C101.

'Hot wire' the fuel pump and see if it fires.

I removed the fuel pump and hot wired it and it worked fine, so there is some wiring problem somewhere. The purple and green connector on the C101 is okay too.

The only thing that i can think off is the e34 had a sigma alarm and immobilizer (sp) but that was all connected to the car loom and stayed with the e34 when it got scrapped, i was careful to make sure it was not connected to the engine loom in anyway, could this have been a problem?

Is the engine loom all intact? I.E. no breaks in the wiring, all incased in the Black Cloth tape?

right a little update, i checked the orange relay and its not clicking i have swapped it for another one so same fault on that one too, so im thinking something in the wiring?

The loom does not have any breaks in it, still covered with the taping, any where else i can check?

Also which sensor do you change on the m30 for an e30 item? the blue or the brown one?

Okay thanks guys.

I changed the orange relay and it clicked, but the fuel pump still is not working, there is no power going to the fuel pump, anywhere else i can check? the wires look to be okay.

How are you checking the power to the pump ? Could be the pump itself. If not try running a new cable to the pump and see if you have the same symptom.

power to the pump with a voltmeter thingy (not sure what they are called).

I took the pump out and hard wired it from the battery and it worked fine, so the only thing is a wiring fault.

Thats fine because the relay works now after i changed it, volt meter says its getting power too. The green/ purple wire looks fine too all the way to the fuel pump, anything else?

i bet/hope its something simple
