Hi. I am in the middle of changing my standard BMW plug leads on my 325i sport for Splitfire performance leads... but i notice that my standard leads have a loop round one of them that has a wire going back to the module where the diagnostic/service reset plug goes to... can anyone shed any light on this matter please ?

Many thanks,
Chris

This gadjet is BMW's early version of a cam position sensor, engine will run without it,but it will run far better with it!

Your original leads on your car are almost certainly as 'high performance' as they need to be! E30's were designed by engineers, not accountants, and in very few cases will aftermarket replacements provide improvements.
