Minimum post count or period of time as a zoner will not work, there are people who have been on here ages selling shite, conning others etc etc, the only way to make a buy safer is to check the relevant feedback, even then its not 100% but its a start at least
This stevetaylor is obviously a top notch tw4t and a compulsive liar, there are plenty of scumbags out there but thankfully they are not all as lowlife as this one

I think it is a case of him being just one of those people who is a complete w****r, you get them in all walks of life. It has been said that there are a few people on the zone selling s***e, that may well be true, however the fundamental difference is that 98% would refund your cash if there was a genuine grievance. Failing that they would at least have the decency to discuss it face to face or via the phone to come to an agreement that suits both parties. This indicates they do have morals.
Let's be brutally honest here, how many of us done something that wasn't quite right and either backed out of a deal or changed or minds and decided not to sell something after all? I know I have. Recently I paid for some parts off of Town325 then my circumstances changed and I didn't need them (I wasn't proud of my actions) yet Mark refunded my money no questions asked and all is good between us. I personally think this is the spirit of the zone, a fun bit of wheeler dealing but essentially nobody gets hurt.
This guy Steve isn't looking at it this way and is just out to make money at all costs. If my previous experience is anything to go by you will find that his dealings go a lot deeper than just here on the zone and involve considerably bigger sums of money! The fact that he is selling his race car on ebay is probably an indicator of something.
I think the zone is as safe a place as any to buy parts/cars etc much more so than ebay, unfortunately the actions of a few wreck it for all of us especially in such a small community.
Essentially no matter when we or the MOD's do you cannot legislate for those with no morals.

It seems more imperative that the zone shows more info about the members and that everyone should show their general location rather than some smartass remark.

SimonBlythe.....Come on Simon tell the full story
You bought a set of Racing Dynamics Headers from us which were advertised for £500 and you paid £400. There was a lot of interest in the headers but as you were the first to respond we gave you discount and you paid in full by paypal straight away which was good of you to do as you had not seen the headers. We agreed to keep the headers for a couple of months for you and you collected them as agreed. Then you said they might not fit as there was a flange missing. I offered for you to come to our garage and have them fitted for you and you declined the offer. I also sent you Free of charge a set of downpipes to help you out. In the ad Only the headers were offered for sale nothing else. You bought the headers sold as seen and several months later you ask for a refund. The headers are exactly as described in the advert why should I offer you a refund?? We have offered to fit them for you...we even re advertised them for you and passed on your details to potential buyers ( I assumed your friend G bought them as I never heard anything from him since he went to yours to collect them??) The last message I had from you was that you were going to the police about this..And I told you fine PLEASE do that if you think a crime has been committed!!!!! You have the headers and downpipes, you were offered to have them fitted which you declined and we even re ad them for you and you are claiming you have been ripped off??!!

Your goods have been sent I thought you had them by now..Like I said you were sent confirmation emails etc. Details here again : Your goods were sent using Intercargo---tracking number INT-6062874729---their phone number is 0844 5673069 if you need to contact them.
I will call them in the morning and see where the parcel is as the tracking info does not give enough info. Maybe one of the Zoners could also give Intercargo a call if they want to get involved the number is there or even visit Intercargo depot in Milton Keynes?

What if a sale is over a certain amount or someone wants a third party to oversee the transaction. A diff sells for £300.00 buyer sends payment to third party, third party then informs seller payment received seller then posts the diff. Buyer then informs third party they have received item and are happy with description, third party then forwards funds to seller. buyer pays a small % to third party for service provided.

I mentioned that you had eventually given the downpipes free of charge, and as I said they are rusted through so of no use. My concerns were regarding the flanged piece, that is the piece I specifically wanted NOT the downpipes! That is THE question I asked when I purchased them "can I fit them straight to the car?" to which you said "yes". I didn't expect, want or demand a set of downpipes as they were clearly NOT included in the sale.
Yes I paid £400, they were advertised for £500, I made an offer and you accepted, I didn't force you to take my offer! If YOU were not happy with my offer then YOU should have declined it and accepted someone else's.
I clearly explained from the outset that I am in the military serving overseas and visit the UK on a relatively infrequent basis. You were happy to "hold" the headers for me to collect. If you weren't happy you should have not said yes.
I stated as soon as I got them home that there was a flange piece missing to which you said there wasn't one, then your mate had it then he had lost it and finally, that was all that came off the car.
You did offer to fit them for me but as I stated on the phone, my car is SORN'd and as such, has no tax or MOT. How can I get the car to you for you to fit and manufacture the flange, hire a trailer?
Yes they were sold as seen but in a state both of us agreed to ie ready to be fitted to the car with only the downpipes needing to be manufactured/sourced.
I requested a refund as this saga had been going on too long and I had been very patient and just wanted to get my car sorted.
I mentioned earlier that I didn't jump on the forum and add my negative thoughts to E30Sleeper's problem. That issue was between you and him and not me, hence the reason I added my comments to say that my dealings with you were fair and proper and that I had no cause for concern.
I would have expected you to say here is £75 or so towards getting the flange manufactured as way of an apology.
You promised me a refund by the Monday stating it would come from your "friend", it never appeared. Then you said I would have the cash by the weekend, it never came, why?
Regarding my "friend" G from e30partz he is someone who contacted you after seeing your advertisement on PH's for my headers. You subsequently gave him my number for him to deal with me directly (without my permission). At this point you should have given me my refund with the headers and downpipe returned to you for you to "sell them on as you saw fit".
G then drove 200 miles to collect them only to discover they are no for an E30!! That was extremely akward and potentially dangerous for me. G and myself immediately tried to contact you. You didn't reply to either of us, we did leave a message on your phone.
This is the first time you have acknowledged me since then, as you have ignored my calls and texts aswell as G's. The message I left on your answer phone clearly states what happened and that they are not E30 headers.
I mentioned the police on the message I left you hoping to get your attention and indicate that I am not happy with the situation.
Has a crime been committed now that it is known they are NOT e30 headers? You tell me, what do you think Steve?
I don't think I am acting wrongly now in requesting a refund as they are not fit for purpose. I certainly didn't sign up to buy a set of headers that are not for my car!
So as I see it you should be offering me a full refund. It is akin to buying a set of 4 stud BBS's for a 325 Sport only to find out when you get them they are 5 stud and for an M3.
Knowing they are not E30 headers Steve what are you thoughts now, do you think I am entitled to get my money back?

You send money you take the risk, doesn't matter who it is. It is just unfortunate that these people exist.
Having said that, none of this chit chat gets these guys their money back, for that I feel sorry for them.
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

It is a shame and I do feel sorry for e30sleeper as he has lost a large amount of cash. I am personally very tired and fed up with the whole situation.
I genuinely thought Steve was a good guy despite what I had seen on the forum, he seemed straight up and comms were good between us. I purchased the manifold in good faith and "sold as seen" believing it to be as described and for an E30. Even when there appeared to be difficulties Steve was still being "helpful" returning calls and addressing my concerns regarding the manifold.
So let's take this down to the bare bones, for arguments sake let's say all my posts are complete lies and that you have done absolutely no wrong in this situation. You have sold, "in good faith" what you thought were a set of header's for an E30. However, once the customer has them it turns out they are not for an E30 after all. Is it now up to me to sell them on or am I right in thinking I will be able to return them for a full refund?
I will end by saying this Steve: now that you know that the manifold is NOT for an E30 what do you think your next course of action should be? Does this now qualify for a refund?

With regards to feedback and if the seller can be trusted would it be possible to have a direct link with the users account info on the left?
This could be a link to a feedback style page or a simple page with:
some info on the number of recent adverts in the sale sections.
number of people that have purchased from this user
If the users would recommend the seller
How many of the purchases were collected or posted
what the seller accepts as payment (paypal ect)
The user name of the last person to purchase something from the seller. (this way any doubt you can contact the other user to seek advise)
Or even simpler a easy thumbs up/down button that buyers can click.
The results shown on the left in %
There is no changing the fact that some people will always spoil anything good for everyone else, thats life.
At the end of the day its like playing the lotto, you never know if your going to win or not. but you pay your money and take the chance. if you don't want to loose don't take the risk.
I've been lucky so far (no, not the lotto) but I don't think I would buy something over £50 if i couldn't either A pick it up myself or B have it delivered buy the seller and pay cash to them when i see the goods.
The mods are doing their best for a FREE SITE! and TBH I don't think you would get any better help from a big company that are getting paid for the work they do.
They and the users are what make the site what it is, and its up to all of us to keep it safe and a good place to be.

Joseph...E30Sleeper
Your goods have been sat at Heathrow Airport for weeks waiting to be shipped with AIR CANADA...The reason for this is that the airline/shipper lost the commercial invoices that were sent with the parcel...Also because the airline did not know what was in the package they had to open it up by hand as they could not see what it was in the x ray machine...for this they made a fee and because it was not paid it was just left in the warehouse..
I have only just been given this info today by Ahmer Ahmed at Intercargo who can be contacted on 0844 5673069 if you want to talk to him ref INT-6062874729.
The comercial invoices and extra fee's have been sent to Intercargo today and I have been told that the goods will be sent today/tomorrow on a direct flight to Canada with Air Canada. The shipper will call you when the goods are in Canada. Any questions contact Ahmer on the number above.

Yest he actually has the front to post on another thread the other day and defend himself!!!!!!!!! This is unbelievable, truly unbelievable.
I see no reaon now for him NOT to be banned. the fact that "he's still on here and so contactable" means nothing. People have been banned for swearing on late!
yet here we have a complete twat that obviously has ZERO respect and therefore no place on the zone! the mods have done their best, we have his contact details............Ban the f*cker!

E30sleeper's goods have been at Toronto airport for age's. The Airport have tried to contact Joseph several times with no luck. I have asked Joseph several times for his contact phone number which I have had no reply.
The mods have been given shipping details, contact numbers and copy of emails etc
Once again here are shipping details if anyone wants to call on Joseph Henein's behalf: Ahmer Ahmed at Intercargo who can be contacted on 0844 5673069 if you want to talk to him ref INT-6062874729
