Is it an american intended car ? As far as I know they are the only one's with the tb on that side of the manifold.
No. The pre sept '87 alpina B6 3.5, B6 2.8 and the south african 333i all use the same inlet manifold with the throttle body on the left had side of the engine.

The B6S 3.5 used the standard E32/E34 inlet with the tb on the right.

This car has been made up or various parts from various cars.

When I posted that I assumed it was a proper B6s, and in my view any modifying of such a car is wrong.

Personally I'd swap the BBS for the original alpinas, get rid of the silly stance with massive rake, get rid of the red bumper tape, get rid of the cream interior, gaiters and pillar trims (wtf!) and the chrome handbrake button.. Some side repeaters would be a good idea if you want a proper MOT, orange front indicator lenses, remove the headlight wiper motors or refit the wiper arms if the rest of the system is there . Think that's about it :)

I'm sure Graphics will make it nice and original - seem to remember he had a lovely standard tech2 sport which bucked the trend of molested scrap generally seen on here.

Divided opinion indeed - bss325i, your encyclopeadic knowledge could prove very useful to me one day, thankyou for your observations.
To be honest with you, I like the way the car looks - as pointed out, it has details down to the air vent computer pod & it has had a huge amount of money spent. For now, I'm just pleased she is in my garage & I can go out there and polish \ learn a bit more about these incredible machines. Maybe Alpina wheels could be the way to go & she does sit very low at the front - probably need to rectify this.
As pointed out, I did have a totally original 325i Sport in white & I am a stickler for originality but I do love the way this car looks & sounds... It will pull quicker than a standard M3 im sure but this is definitley a heavier car from what I have read...
More pictures to follow soon because I havent stopped cleaning her since I bought her - and as ever, your comments & opinions good \ bad are all most welcome...

leave the car as is, nothing even slightly council about it, you see m3s with bbs and a rake constantly, bit of an insult calling the m8s car council really, keep up the good work m8, nice find even if it is a replica, a wee tidy up and it will be awsome.

Interior looks pretty garish tbh, I would echo most of Theo's sentiments, although I would keep the BBS's, clearly the M30 anchor is weighing the front end down a fair bit.. It either needs the arse lowering to match, or front lifting..

Black leather would have been better IMO

Chrome interior bits are letting the car down 8)

Personally, the bare minimum i would do is loose the red bumper tape (thats an M3 Sport evo only thing) change the pillar trims back to black from beige as they look very wrong, orange indicators and sort the headlight wash wipe.

All very simple and cheap things to sort but would transform the look of it.

As for putting Alpina wheels on it? Depends on if you want to go the whole hog and make it a proper replica or not.

What spec is the M30? Is it a propper early B6 engine? Standard M30 with Alpina inlet or tuned M30?

No not at all Mark.

The B6/B10/B11 3.5 M30 made 260bhp/254lbft without a cat and about 5bhp/5lbft less with a cat.

The most powefull NA M30B35 available from the 3 main tuners.

The B6S is my dream E30. They are as rare as rockinghorse shite in a hamsters cadge.

Must be an intresting mix of the 6 pot sound in the m3 shell for sure.

I like the suede dashboard\centre console & that interior...
Has that had modifications or did they come with black grille, darker lights etc...??
Its what I will aspire to do with my car, make it as real as possible - wont be easy sourcing an interior like that though!!

The above car whilst being undeniably serious has had a fairly liberal dosing of council. A reference point it is not.

ALL B6s came with completely standard M3 bodywork/grilles/lights etc and 16" wheels.

Its an E34 dash, looks like the owner has a leaky aircon fill valve, I use to keep the valve adaptor for mine in the ashtray :)

Hopefully that is "just" an M3 that's been butchered rather than a B6S!

There's a few rough edges like the ASC and headlight aim switches which just don't quite fit in the dash, the widened HVAC panel/molested dash and top vent. :squint:

Are there many M3's with 4 electric windows? Modded E46 popout motors?

As impressive as the transplant of most of a B10 Bi-Turbo into an E30 is, it's hardly a oemosexual's wet dream is it?
