after owning m20's since the year blob thought i would give the 24v thing a go , 8O

some of you will know/recognise this cab as Malcolm's old turd.

I bought it over the phone and was happy when it turned up today exactly as described, cheers Malc, :D

it's my first Granite silver e30 I love the colour,
only had a short blast up the road so I have no idea how the 24v compares to the 12v

here's a few pics.....

Image
Image

the donk was fitted by Ant at A-tech and a very neat job was done it looks almost factory, apart from the airbox one of the jobs on the to-do list

Image

it's now in the frag garage....

for a spot of de-counciling :)

thats was good conversion i helped in that one the airbox is a very tight fit matey if you can get it in well done the best bet for OEM look it a CDA carbon look one.
If my memory serves me right something to do with the air box resonance tube gets in the way

You need an early M50 325 air box.

The later ones have the resonance bit that sticks over near the top hose and it won't fit. You need to make some brackets up to mount them too. I'm making do with the cone filter until I can be arsed to sort it properly. If you have ABS forget about it though

I think the only one you can get away with is an M30 air box which you have to butcher and stuck the air meter inside. It's a bit of a bodge

Are your black kidneys the black plastic or are they standard kidneys that have been sprayed? If they are the black plastic and you want rid I will swap you for my chrome kidneys or may buy them off you depending on price.

That diff will be lively at 373 and a dirty 6 box.

If the clutch is a duel mass wrongness you need to chuck an M20 flywheel cluch and starter motor on there.

Decided to tidy up the bay and get it more 'stock' looking :)

after a bit of research, it seems the M50 swappers prefer the M42 loom cover on the bulkhead I have one so it seems rude not to

it should look much better :D

when i removed the old e36 cover I found this

a burnt wire !

where does it go and what does it feed?
(it's the smaller brown wire out of the 4 in the bunch)
any ideas what could have caused it ?
