So I was surfing the net for anything E30 related (I officially have a sickness I know) And I stumbled upon this thread at E30tech

http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92639

Which led me to this site here

http://www.creativeoptions.info/Upholstery1.htm

It interested me as I will be doing a re-trim in the near future and this is exactly what I need, I didnt even know this was possible. I always thought it would be done at a trimmer..

I bet you cant get a retrim for this price of the kit

I used to fit kits like this when I worked for a company called Auto Kit, we did a lot for work for BMW Sytner in Leicester and Nottingham fitting and supplying factory fit leather interiors to new and nearly new BMW's.

I was always a little miffed at why I would be fitted a leather interior in a brand spanking new BMW but apparently when a dealer places there stock order they can’t send them back to have leather fitted so source outside companies to fit leathers if they have no cars in stock with leather that suit a customers specifications.

There dead easy to fit all you need is a basic knowledge of how the seat is made up a pair of odd ring pliers and some odd rings I used to fit 4 or 5 kits a day so they don’t take long to fit at all. Just think as if your fitted a glove over your seat frame, but pay close attention to fitting the odd rings and make sure your putting the tension in the right places else the leather may look baggy or on the other hand have too much tension in it.

Things get a tad more difficult if you want to replace any seat foams, I used to make new ones from scratch but there are companies that sell pre shaped foams

The bloke I used to work for was an agent for auto kit but is no longer offering the service as he now runs prestige parking at east midlands air port but heres a link to the Auto Kit head office, if anyone wants a hand fitting one of these kits just give me a holla

Wow that looks very impressive.

I was wondering if theres anything for the door cards and horse shoe on a convertible?

This is exactly what my rear door cars look like.

I didn't notice that, I think someone was selling these on the Zone a few months back, I save the photo because I liked the design.

This is how my bench looks:

Mike,
Only the M3 and cabrios had bolsters. The standards seats in the faux vinyl actually came in Pearl, black, pacific, parchment, buckskin, natural, classic red, havanna and cardinal. I am sure I am missing a few I think it came in pine green as well.

Excellent.....

I got your pm about the micro suede but I like the clean look of leather or vinyl /

Still cant design leather or vinyl... I am worried about leather cracking over time nd I hear vinyl is not prone to this... I heard the mercedes dont use leather anymore for the same reason..

In your honest opinion what is better leather or vinyl? Will one out last the other? Do they feel the same? ect ect

I dont know yet mate but I have had lengthy discussions with Kevin and he is sending out some samples to me.... I like the Symphony suede myself as I am worried about the longevity of leather... Mercedes dont use leather anymore as it cracks... If it looks like leather and feels like leather but is cheaper and lasts longer then leather its sounds good to me..

You want to get some mate?

Mike,
Remember I no longer carry any of the materials used on the site as it has not been touched since 03. I have a new site ready do launch with hundreds of installed pics. My start times are months so I have not even launched it as I am only a one man show. I am gathering all the samples now from suppliers for you. As far as your interior scheme what about black with med tan french seams that match your exterior.
Kevin
ps maybe if a few others order you could share shipping.
