I have a 1990 320i and have been offered a 325i cylinder head which I am tempted to buy (as an insurance against mine becoming incontinent with old age) but can it be substituted even though it has larger valves?

i dont think it's gonna work at all... after all you will be decerasing compression.....
besides i do not know whether it will actually physically fit (in terms of location of mounting studs/holes)

It's a total NO NO.
It would fit but would give silly compresssion and a less powerful and less economical engine, and as you are already driving a 320 I don't think you need either of those. Just build up a spare 2.5 engine!

Nope that won't work either, the 320i/323i heads have the same combustion chamber shapes. You'll end up clashing psitons into the head.dazleeds wrote:how bout a 323i head on a 325?? whats that do????
