Two questions:
1) What is the best way to get rear discs on my 320i? I believe it is to change the rear trailing arms for those from a model that has rear discs. Is this an easy job?
2) Are E36/E30 diffs interchangeable? I ask ebcause E36 LSD's are a hell of a lot more common...
Cheers!

The large case diffs aren't interchangable, but the internals are.Are E36/E30 diffs interchangeable? I ask ebcause E36 LSD's are a hell of a lot more common...
E36 LSD diffs are hard to find, compared to E30 LSD diffs.

Hi Mate, I have a guide on retro-fitting rear discs to the e30. PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.
I'm pretty sure the e36 compact diffs will fit with a different cover and e30 driveshaft flanges but the rest of the e36 range won't.
Cheers,
Iain T

E36 Compact or Z3 diffs are the same as E30 diffs, same cover too, but with different output flanges.Templ8e30 wrote:Hi Mate, I have a guide on retro-fitting rear discs to the e30. PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.

E36 gearboxes have direct 5th gears as opposed to the E30s overdrive 5th. Because of this E36 diffs generally will be nearer 3:1 ratio than 4:1.
