Basically, I need a badge with 6 gears, the later knobs have a different shape badge so its not as easy as swap them over, and I dont want to fit a later knob either.
Any ideas?

Dan,

Not sure what vintage knob you're using, but I've got the emblem from an E34 540. It's the correct shape for my Tech2 knob.

Cheers,

Ian.

Can't you get a non-ergo leather gearknob, and use a BMW emblem centre?

I know they did them as I've got one.

What about a MINI knob? (Assuming reverse is still up-left)

Direct fit on an e30 after a minor tweek with a hacksaw and they look quite nice too... I really must get piccies of mine.

The storm ones are good, I've got one, nicely weighted but as some have said, perhaps not the most appropriate for the car in question but you could get a six speed badge for a storm one.
