exact same system as mine too :) They do indeed sound a tad fruity!

i have the downpipe flange drawn up on CAD if anyone wants a copy? Then you can get all OEM homo and make some bolt-up downpipes for it

I cranked mine over today, mainly just to check the wiring was OK. Couldn't hear the fuel pump prime at all which I thought I would as the tank is bone dry. Are there any extra fuses or relays I should be adding to the fuse box with this car having been a non-injection car?
Have you wired an in tank fuel pump in? ive not read this thread in a while and im not going to try again :D

I'm not remotely OEM homo mate, so that would do me ideal.

I think the M52 PAS pump has a slightly larger banjo fitting though.

How soon do you reckon you could have some made up? I can paypal you the money straight away

It's PTFE hose with a stainless braid, nice and flexible, safe for all oils and rated to 2000 psi (M20 PAS pump =110bar = 1595psi)

I will need to know the banjo sizes, the rack is M14 feed and M16 return, and the orientation of the pressure outlet on the pump, the braided pipe is bendy but doesn't like twisting.

Slight problem is that my next day off is next Tuesday, I could phone the order in and collect then though and am off to the BMWCC night in howden.

I believe the banjo at the pump end is 16mm internal diameter.

Looking at the pump from the back the banjo would be bolted on about 15 degrees from vertical, leaning in towards the engine at the top. Does that make sense?

It sounds about where the inlet pipe is on the M20 pump, and realoem agrees that its M16.

It shouldn't affect the price but I will call them tomorrow and see, if your happy with the time frame then I will get them to make them up :)

Which PAS reservoir are you using? and where will it be mounted?

PAS reservoir is the original E36 item and is mounted on the near side engine leg.

My mobile is 07531 815878, if you can give me a call or a txt or alternatively a PM to let me know the crack I can sort you out with the pennies and then arrange where & when I collect later.

Thanks very much

You wouldn't know the internal diameter of the return pipe would you? I've got a feeling its 1/2" or 13mm the same as the E30 but never been that deep into an E36.

The one I have just measured has a 16mm banjo for the rack end of the return pipe (one that goes to reservoir from rack right?)

Yep that's the puppy, but I should have said I need the measurement where it pushes onto the reservoir :o:

I would say the hose is the same size diameter as E30 at a guess. I'm willing to take the chance anyway. Don't think the reservoirs are any different

I've got a spare one knocking about so I'll take a pic.

Collected the PAS pipes from Stonesie at the BMWCC meet tonight, so should get those bolted up tomorrow night. Many thanks for sorting those out. A few other jobs left to do and then hopefully brother Dezomodo will get an away pass for Sunday for some mig action and we can get the exhaust system done. The front jacking points will hopefully be getting the good news too.

Discovered that the E30 exhaust system I was using on the touring with the S50 exhaust manifold was actually a 320 system  So that can't have been good for performance.

Should feel like a bit of a missile in the lighter chromie with a decent exhaust on, I'd hope to be possibly breaking into the 13's

got the PAS pipes fitted up tonight, fuel filler pipe and fuel filter.

She's about ready for some fuel to be tipped in and fired up. Still a load of fanny jobs to do, but getting there.

Getting the M3 system to fit looks like it will be a mission (and a pain in the arse on axle stands)

Doing anything involving exhausts, welding and axle stands is a recipe for ball ache. :(

Dont cut these hangers off in the top of the picture until its fitted as they come in very handy to temporary cable tie it to the beam while your swearing wishing you'd got four pair of hands.

you could weld some tabs to the beam and use them if you wanted but its not really nessasary

Good luck :D

Well she starts and ticks over (but no manifold on) so it's brief.

Had a bash at starting her last night after chucking some fuel in. Wasn't starting. Turned out to be an EWS issue, I had managed to snap a wire that goes to the EWS box, probably when stuffing the loom through the bulkhead. Sorted that and she would fire up but die instantly. After speaking with Dan he suggested seing if it ran on throttle which it did. Turned out I'd connected the ICV and the TPS the wrong way around  She fired into life and into an even tickover.

Dezzy was on the job today with the welder and has done a grand job of fabbing up some downpipes and modded the manifolds to mate upto the scorpion system. He has taken them away to finish off and I'll be collecting wednesday together with my new tyres fitted upto the mims.

Decided to break the camera out tonight as the engine bay is nearly finished. Car is filthy though, think the last time it was washed was November when me & Dezzy picked it up.

Money shot right the my brizzel.

I have a good tan coming on after the lack of room and gravel combo now like.

We fooking love gravel up north. :D

I am please with the way they came out. 52mm pipe from the bottom where the 3 go into 1 all the way to the M3 system. Should be a good combo once finished.

i swear we need a group buy on perspex bonnets or something - they look great with the 24v lumps and no bonnets.

I agree with relocating the battery to the boot too.
