1) Do you actually like your car?

2) What pisses you off about your car?

3) Would you sell your current car to buy an old car back?
1 - Yeah. I love it, its my own at the end of the day and a car i have wanted for a long time. Had it over a year now and has not missed a beat. Its mint mechanically and body wise..

2 - fuel consumption but thats expected, although it's miles better than my sport was!

3 - Nope. Always go forwards, and my e30 might be up for grabs soon as i am going to need a more sensible car......

Hey Scott, I think you know what I think about the project you took on, but, I think you should put the sport away, cover it up, and forget about it for a while, concentrate on getting your career plans together, get some money coming in, when you're all sorted and out of debt etc, then pull the cover of the sport, and we'll all come down and help you put the thing back together!

I went from a 165BHP FWD hatch with roll cage, bucket seats, no interior, twin carbs, etc etc to a totally standard 318iS with 135BHP.

I don't regret it at all. I like the iS as much as the previous car. I was bored with the other car; I drove it for 2 years as my daily driver with no heater and having to use ear plugs all the time.

My plans for the iS are nothing more than maintenance. It's a great driver's car just as it is.

So, yes I do like my current car and no I'd not change it.

Sorry to hear of your current predicament Scott. My house is becoming a bit like that but it was vety cheap and I know I'll never lose money on it. It does now after a year have central heating and a bathroom!

1) Do you actually like your car?

Yes, love it.

2) What pisses you off about your car?

Squeaks from the boot.
Suspension needs replacing.

3) Would you sell your current car to buy an old car back?

No way, this is the best car I've had by a mile. I've wanted one for about 10 years and don't plan on ever getting rid of her. Just regular maintenance. Will do the suspension and lowering at some point. Will also treat myself to a chip, BBTB, sports seats, short shift, CD player, Tech-2 kit at some point but in no real hurry.

I know how you feel Scott. It was the same crack with my old sport too.

1. I love it. She's everything I need in a motor and more. I was really lucky to get such a good un' in such great condition. Auto cruising rules in town.

2. Sometimes I wish she was manual and had a LSD. I don't care too much about these issues to go changing anything though. Fuel consumption sucks sometimes if I drive in a more "spirited" fashion. Only to be expected though. There's somthing squeaking in the boot too, annoying !!

3. No way whatsoever. The touring is 10 times the car the the import sport was. So much so you'd think that they were made by different manufactures.

1) Yes its great

2) not being able to get things like fidges and cookers in the back because of the rear lights intruding on the boot opening.

3) No my 316 was gutless

Hmmm...can do this twice, cos I have 2 cars

Do I like my 325i?
Generally, yes....It goes well, is fairly well equipped and reasonably comfortable and entertaining to drive (for a daily driver).

What pisses me off?
The fuel economy, mainly.

Would I swap it?
Possibly...I had an E34 530i (M30) previously and that was no less eceonomical even though it was bigger and had a bigger motor (albeit hardly less powerful)...I miss the extra bits the 5 series had as standard...like the better heater/ventilation and the better OBC
The 5 was also cheaper to insure and cost less to buy.
For a daily driver, I would swap it for other cars, also...Perhaps an E36 325/328 coupe, for example or another Nissan 200sx

Do I like my M3?
Yes...unreservedly...despite the extra cost of almost everythin it is so much fun to drive..period!

What pisses me off?
The exorbitant cost of some parts (thermostat, for example) and the extra care needed to keep it in fine fettle.

Would I swap it?
Perhaps...but only for a better (Evo/Evo2/Evo Sport) E30 M3 or perhaps a Porsche 944 S2/Turbo or 968. I could be persuaded to swap it for something else that would be a decent, enjoyable, track car that could also drive on the road without breaking my fillings and that was a ptential appreciating classic...Anyone got any suggestions?

1) Do you actually like your car? Yes

2) What pisses you off about your car? For a 6 cylinder engine its not that quick acceleration wise and it burns a lot of fuel considering that it ain't that quick.

3) Would you sell your current car to buy an old car back? Hell No!

My parents are always having a go at me because i mod a car then sell it at a fraction of the price

I dont hate any car ive had, i have had some good and some shit. Driving is something I enjoy, be it a skoda, lada or bmw. i drive to get to work and live my life.

in reality i should have kept my 998cc mini and i would be a very rich man as it was mint. but we cant live in the past.

i have had serious money problems and recoverd and only now can i appreciate why i enjoy driving and the freedom that having that embarasing photocard in my wallet provides! (as well as beer  )

i get the feeling that from your post your loosing your determination in completing your car/conversion whatever.... all i can say is persivere and work your ass off the end product will be something special.

Oh and its a BMW E30 classic, retro, and NOT a saxo

** been on the beer i do apologise

1) Do you actually like your car? Yes , but i get bored quickly! I find it very hard almost impossible to appreciate what i have when i have it

2) What pisses you off about your car? nothing it's me who pisses me off! I can't stop thinking of ways to try and make it better.

If anything, what annoys me is i need to get my body work done. I hate rust and wish E30's were as good as newer cars for rust!

3) Would you sell your current car to buy an old car back? No, but i wish i could of kept my old 318is aswell as my sport. But tomstickland owns it now and seems to be loving it like i did.

I've now decided when money allows i want an E34 M5 one day............

3. Yes - id love to have my first pulsar gtir back or my 3.1 capri on triple 40's or a few others too.

Popular with the ladies

Easy to "bond" with-I feel that the car "appreciates" the oil changes etc

2)fuel consumption-can be sorted if I get a 2.97 diff

I am just starting to bond with my MOTORSPORT CONVERTIBLE whispering sweet nothings to her now, even though she has the wrong leather interior and a possible hidden history which i have not looked into yet but yeah i am happy with her.

The car i most wish that i could buy back and curse the day i ever decided to sell her would be my 1989 635CSI HIGHLINE sh1t i miss that car i have a pain in my heart everytime i think of her.

Cheers

sounds a good plan in theory but im gonna need to shift it at some point because im moving to cardiff soon and my parents arent going to want my e30 kicking round in non-drivable state, are they?

8O Mate, honestly, that would be stupid, with the time, effort, and money you've put into it, you really should be keeping it...for a very long time!

If that is you're plan, I would stop now, and don't take it any further!
