You will have to find some other turd Steve, your cash wont tempt me to part with this :D

So much more lively with changing to the S52 ECU, just pulls and pulls, cant wait for Pod winkeye

Got an S50 MAF and airbox im wanting to fit, also got an enlarged throttle on the way and about to buy a custom inlet hose to couple them together and give the best air flow, I want to get this lot fitted with no running issues before I get it on the rollers.

Spook you might have Hartges but your not coming near with your taste in tracksuits! :D

attention to detil is great and so is the power plant

its close to giving some of the OEM mk1 golfs a run for their money.

Ive been considering lowering it at the back Kos but when your standing next to it its totally different to the pics. Im thinking spacing out the rear wheels will make much difference to how it looks. Ive got some 15mm lowering hats for the front but TBH I dont think it needs it.
Will take some pics at the meet tomorrow and see what we think 8)

a bit more girth always works, i'd like to see the newer pics of how it sits

but wither way, its a top end quality car.

there ws a mk1 golf in pea green at DC10, all stock looking aprt from set of wheels, originla tweed interior but ultr clean engin bay but with a mk4/5 tdi lump

your car reminds me of that in way

thats a huge compliment btw :D

Dan,

Just read this complete thread for the first time mate..... What a car... One suggestion..

Chrome rightness mate. I think the chrome wrongness put me off all this time as I hate to see a chromie molested.

If you can get hold of an Alpina ecu, you'll find they have a 7200rpm limit

These motors, even when fitted in the heavier E39 aren't to slow either.

Thanks boys, once I get the rear beam/arms/brakes on it will be near complete apart from the little niggles that need sorting 8)

I gave up hunting for an Alpina ECU a long time ago Dave, would you let me copy the map from yours if I get hold of the proper equipment to do it? In exchange for muchos beer tokens of course :D

One thing I must do soon is upgrade the aux belt tensioner as ive seen some nasty pics floating round the web

Dan
P/n for the ecu is 15 36 690 if you want to order one up(chassis number required when ordering)

If you can get hold of the eqpt then it may be possible.Only problem is,I'm very rarely over the border though(with the car anyway).
It's usually a flight from Aberdeen to either Heathrow or Gatwick.

I too have heard the horror stories(£400 for new pulleys+tensioner) and seen some of the pics.

It's next on my to do list.

How did you get hold of that engine? It must be one of the hardest engines to get hold of.

Did I miss the post about the engine. I see the topic now says 3.2 Alpina, what page did i skip?

This is pretty much how I'd like my future coupe to look.

No, its desperate for a wash ATM, will be having some cleaning tomorrow as I might get to the Tatton Park show on Sunday if its not going to rain.

Aircon is oiled/gassed and working now, even though the oil came from a vauxhall dealer 8O
14 degrees at the vents 8)
