URGENT TECH INFO ON AUTO /MAN CHANGE OVER????

GOT 325I MTECH TOURER,MINT 18MTH AGO AND DECIDED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE /GEARBOX AS THE ENGINE HAD SMASHED A PISTON /HEAD,HAD EXCELLANT DONOR AND DID THE SWAP TO A MANUAL 2.5 INCLUDED PEDALS ,THOUGH NOW WHEN I HAVE GONE TO REASSEMBLE,EVERYTHINGS RIGHT EXCEPT A PLUG AT THE AIR INTAKE ,LIKE A 6/8PIN PLUG ROUND RATHER THAN THE THREE PIN SPADE ,PLEASE IAM IN URGENT NEED OF THE RIGHT INFO AS THE PRESSURE IS BEGINNING TO GET ME DOWN AND BEATEN,I BELIEVE THAQT THE STARTER INHIBITOR MAY BE TELLING THE CAR THAT ITS IN DRIVE AND NOT PARK/NUETRAL? AND WHEN AFTER NOT ONLY BEING BEATEN ONCE I HAVE GIVEN MYSELF THE OBSCURE CHALLENGE OF BEATING MYSELF SENSELESS AND HAVE TAKEN OUT AND REPLACED ANOTHER AUTO / MANUAL EXCEPT THIS IS ON THE E34/535,LOWERED M5 REPLICA,BUT YOU KNOW WILL BE MORE FUN IN MANUAL AS LOWERED AND 8K SPARY JOB,17WHELZ,AND ON BOTH CONVERSIONS THE STARTER WONT TURN , PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE LET ME KNOW,AS THE JOB IS GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER WAITING,THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND UNDERSTANDING ,JONATHAN MOTORSPORTBMW,JCT4 M65 ........E30 PARTS 325/2.7,JONATHAN

If I could understand any of that, I could probably advise you.

Not sure if i've read it right ! But sounds like the car won't start because it thinks the " auto box " is not in Park or Neutral ! I believe you have to connect the 2 wires that went to the gearbox together to "fool" the ecu. Hopefully someone will be along to confirm which wires..........

If this is the problem, look at the loom above the glovebox, and you will find two single wire connectors with black/yellow wires. Unplug both of these and plug the two from the main loom together.
The other two wires can be removed along with the sub loom and relay they are attached to.
