Right i have an early 325i that will not start but it stinks of fuel seems its just pooring loads of fuel into the chambers, if i pull fuse 11 and crank it will start then replace it while its running it cuts out

Im swaying towards the fuel pressure regulator being well and truly fubared but the thing is this was running fine a two days ago and drove fine.

Remove the vacuum line and suck on it (carefully!!) If you get fuel, it is dead..
Im just going to stick one of my spare ones on as i dont like the taste of unleaded :D

if it has split, meerly pulling the pipe off and cranking it over will show if fuel p1sses out.

Just bridge the fuel pump relay with the vacuum line off

Right ive changed the fuel pressure regulator and still no change still the same problem.

Here's a bit of back ground info on the car. Ive swapped the cylinder head on this car and when i had completed the job all was fine running perfect i even drove it home from where i was doing the work on it. After that i left it a couple of days didn't even think about going and starting it as i thought it would be fine but now there is this problem.

Its as if the injectors are stuck open and when i pull the fuse that's leaning the mixture off enough to get it started yesterday i took one of the plugs out and it was dripping wet with fuel that much is being put into the chamber and when i get it running the smoke is thick black smoke like a diesel :(

Ive been messing with this for 2 days now and its doing my head inplease help

alls well that ends well, I disassembled the iS top end - twice, after it started missing & running like crap. It turned out that a 2 week old spark-plug core had faulted, letting pressure out - I couldn't believe it..

then friend recently played under the bonned of his tdi - a few days later he heard a loud pop & instant lack of turbo. He pondered, and researched, removed said turbo, but all was fine..

I said I'd have a butchers before he had it trailered to vag.. 10 minutes in, I pointed out his intercooler feed pipe was hanging / had popped off.. 8O
