i had a go at polishing the car today and i noticed the drivers side rear quarter has been sandpaperd in small areas :?

I'am thinking while its stripped take it to a bodyshop, i know a guy who seems very pally with me since he knows my parents and does work on my car exceptionally cheap, He also has a body shop :D I'am trying to get a job off him too winkeye

When i take my IS over for brake fluid renewal i might ask how much he would charge for a cab respray if i provide him with it allready stripped of bumpers and trim, which it is at the moment

Whats the going rate for a decent cabby respray ?? around a grand?
My body shop quoted me £1300 for a full respray. Small bodyshop in a village. Excellent sprayer. I've seen many cars hes resprayed. I'll post pics of when the passenger side of my car gets resprayed.

Wasnt going to bother with them but there is a few scratches to the rear quarter, this should hide them nicely :D

Decals will hide this problem now Blitz, probably going to get 2 new wings for it though, ive been quoted £75 for two brand new wings to be sprayed. both Bminiparts and cotswold work out the same price of around £170 :( cotswold about a fiver cheaper per wing

Some nice morcels there Alex, the gold will look  on the white cabby

Where did you get the decals from if you don't mind me asking? Are they an exact copy, font and all? Bet they saved you a pretty penny, compared to the genuine ones!?

£75 is pretty cheap for both wings. But I guess it can be becuase its a non metallic colour. You should be able to get rot free straight cab wing Alex. I managed to.

someone else pointed me to them, still thinking about new ones though, £75 is pretty good but the guy's sister is good friends with my mother and i get on with him well, even though he has only ever done 1 thing on my car he gives me mates rate's quotes, he has both a garage and bodyshop 8)

A bit more progress

Got the alpina snow plough finished and test fitted it. It needed a bit more p38 in places then i painted it in Alpine white II, Then loads of laquer. First time ive managed to get a shine with rattle cans so i'am pleased with myself

Image

Image

rear spoiler is also finished, its suppose to be all colour coaded but i prefer it painted like the tech I's

Image

Image

Image

had to fit the alpina script.

Interior is almost finished, plenty of bmw bags of nuts, screws and clips have gone into it.

Image

Image

Image

Also fitted alpina stripes, though i had allready put pics of these up like :? ive done passanger side to front wing, and drivers side to the door. i might fit some better wings before fitting the rest of the decal kit, also the drivers door needs adjusting first.

only pics i have

hopefully will have a hood sorted this week, so next month it will be all water tight. (have a welder on next months shopping list  )

Water tight :D .....

.... Sort of the windows wont no longer go back up :?

Picked up a hood from cecotto467 today has a bit of puncture to the rear screen but isnt too bad, i will eventually get a new screen put it.

Fitted as per that bmw video in care and detailing section about the hood roofs and it fits well, all windows fit well too, although the passenger window goes too far up????????? Any suggesions??????

I managed to put all the windows down and went to put one back up and the lights went off, the overload switch didnt go click and neither has any fuses gone???? anyone any idea whats happened?

for some strange reason they only worked when the passanger door was open however the door was open and the motor ran for a second and stopped, all switch lights off and door still open. when i open and close the doors you hear a relay click so i assume its not that

the drivers door switch needs replacing i assume with a new one they would work when the drivers door was open
