Which Machine Polisher?

Despite my best efforts my 12 month old Brilliant Rot has inherited a few swirl marks, light oxidation in places and has generally lost it's finish when close up

I'm thinking I am going to have to bite the bullet and treat it to a proper high speed polish/paint correction.

Just wondered what machine people have and recomend?

I like the look of the one in the link below but It isn't cheap.

Any advice much appreciated. I have dabled lots with clay bars and 3 stage kits giving good results but on this occasion I think this is the most suitable route to take.

You can buy a kestrel das-6 for half the price and do the same job.
www.autojoy.co.uk should have them in stock at a fair price. HTH.

a dual action polisher like those two are better if you havent had much practise but will take longer to get the shine back but will be easier to take swirl marks out.

The other option is a rotary polisher like so:

its faster but can burn through edges of paint alot easier but can be alot quicker when you know what your doing.

Now adays I always say go straight for the Rotary, it's far faster, as said, so you need to be careful.

But buy a scrap panel and take your time and not being silly - follow some tutorials (loads out there) you will be absolutely fine with one.

I think a dual action like the Kestral will be a safer option for me whilst I get the hang of it, i dont mind spending a bit longer to avoid any nasty accidents.

I would really recommend the Silverline Silverstorm rotary polishers, they have a slow start feature and have turned my car from a dull red with bad swirls and lots of holograms into a shiny example, so much so I've had several comments stating it looks brand new. You've got to get the right polish and pads though, I used Menzerna, found it excellent and hardly used any of the 250ml trials size bottles purchased.

I was a novice and didn't trial, I didn't have any problems, just took a short while getting used the polishers pulling itself across the panel.

Just get a scrap bonnet and practice practice practice.

Just remember keep the speed down 1500rpm max an always keep the pad moving and you shouldnt go far wrong.

The DA (kestral or G220) are much safer as they dont build up the same heat but they do take a lot longer.

Yep totally agree, spread the polish on the lowest setting gradually building up to 1500/1800 RPM then back down to 900/600 to finish off.
