hey guys just putting a few bits together half way through doing my m20 turbo and getting to the little bits
now i know you need a linear tps for ms ive got ms2 v3.0
this week end i picked up a m50/m52 tps which i heard would work
but today when i just tried it on a throttle housing it only goes on backward so the plug is in the opposite direction to the original
will this work?
or is there some thing else out there that would be a better fit? eg pointing the right direction lol
thanks in advance

The E36 one is the simplest one. Check the E30tech forum for more informations.

Ok cool thanks for that gunni I just got a tps of what I think was a m50 m52 engine but it locates on the throttle housing backward so the plug is undernieth the housing does the e36 one point in the same direction as the standard one?
Thanks
Thanks
Now I can´t remember
I used a volvo tps last time.
You should be able to find pics on e30tech. Try and look for the tps adapter plate somebody made. That has to have pics

It's alright I've sorted it I did read some treads on e30tech and what I found was they take the butterfly and shaft ou. And spin it 180 degrees so that the d shaft is the other way simple really I used an old tps cut it to bits so it just left the two old screw slots and screwed the m50 one to it works a charm

Good call.
switchable auto gives better resolution though, always makes more data on the raw ADC count than an M50 unit.
no an issue when only using to trigger acel enrich , but when I did a couple of AlphaN on MS M20's thay were quantifiably better with more TPS res.

If I understand correctly, what I think it amounts to is that the switchable auto tps gives a better analogue to digital count with higher resolution - and works, in effect, like a more finely graduated and sensitive volume control on a stereo.
If the M50 tps is only used to take readings as a trigger for acceleration enrichment then its lower resolution is fine. But if the MS is set up without an air sensor (MAF/MAP) and works only on readings taken from throttle position and rpm (AlphaN) then the lower resolution of the M50 tps isn't as good as the other, more sensitive tps.
The switchable auto one is the more sensitive tps. The throttle position reading from it is more accurate. With more accurate throttle position readings (also finely graduated and sensitive)- it is possible to make the tuning more accurate.
So the best tps for the job depends on the set up you are using. Are you using an air sensor?

are you fitting a MAF from an e36 etc or a e30 style AFM? if so dont worry about it, if not then use the auto one.

Did you piece together your turbo setup, or did you buy a kit? I find that most are kinda flimsy/unreliable in appearance. And I've been told to stay away from them. I might have found one, but it's $$$$.
What have you done so far, and would you mind sharing your costs/suppliers?
Thanks!
