M50 inlet on M52, sorry i know its been asked!

But....i've had a good look on tinternet and can't really find anything?! Seem some very bodge looking "kits" on ebay for like £50?!

I've been on E3024v and e36coupe, can't seem to find a guide for this very well know upgrade

It interests me for my E36 but i'm sure many E30 24v converters on here with M52's would like to know also possibly

i need to look more closely at Kos' motor don't i. thing is i don't know the 24valvers very well.

Ain't no M20 its like starting all over again! I've seen just by looking the crankcase breather pipes are in different places. I've already got an M50 manifold and throttle body

I'm quite keen to give my M52 a kick up the arse and make it faster! My pina touring out drags any stock 328i with ease as the pod proved

E36coupe guide is to give that alpina bloke £300 to chop up your M50 manifold.
The polish bloke on ebay makes a crappy kit that will fall apart under the slightest bit of vacuum.

You need then inlet Burt... dans method is the one that was done on mine.. i did notice a good difference dispite the engine being shagged.. im actually quite excited to get a good b28 in mine with the inlet... i drove the car the engine is coming out of, it had an auto box and standard inlet and it was quicker than mine!!

Thanks Dan, i'll need a new rubber throttle body pipe then as mine is split. But isn't the M52 one a smaller bore to the M50 inlet? Just blank off the breather hole on the M50 inlet.

I'm sure i can figure out the rest from those links cheers

No need for remap, you will need an E36 325i throttle boot and cable.
The support brackets stay on the block and can be bent over enough to bolt onto the M50 manifold, although it doesnt hurt to leave them off

Does that pipe go to the inlet boot? looks like it goes to the throttle body

there are 2 inlets just at the bottom of the inlet boot, the one you see takes the crank case breather pipe and the one the other side takes a supply from the ICV (m50 variety)

I know, ive got one on mine using an M50 boot with the two holes but my pipe is a temporary cut and shut effort running under the manifold with bends here there and everywhere, do you have a pic of where it joins at the boot? and what pipe did you use?

The inlet boot is for a 525i non-vanos, which is what my original M50 lump came from. (now reincarnated as Dezzy's 3ltr mo-fo)

Not got any pics I'm afraid. The pipe I am running from the crank vent is just some coolant pipe, not sure on the dimension but it squeezes into the vent nice & tight and connects to the bottom of the boot with a jubilee clip. The pipe coming from the ICV is just some old coolant hose from the M40 the touring had in I believe
