yeh it was on a touring that belonged to my old boss gordon at ashton motors. many a time we hurtled round knockhill in it it got scrapped yrs back but fortunatly he had kept the spoiler which seems to be a genuine bmw part hence the better fit 8)

right i had some more time today so here is the latest,

by saturday all going well the body will be totally finished, got to put the alpina stripes down the passenger side, there is a thin black line to be painted on the front spoiler then the four arches and spoiler to be final fitted.

as it is now, i have completed the driver side and rear striping, rear lights are fitted with new seals, new lenses and new lense seals

new front indicator complete units are in inc seals also

ive stripped the headlights down to a bare unit and replaced the lenses, reflector units inside and new lense retaining rims and seals

alpina tail badge is fitted, bmw small rear panel badge is on and genuine bmw 2002 turbo new boot spoiler is fitted.

i got to say im feeling some enthusiasm coming back as its turning into a car again!!!!

Looks fantastic. I love the ride height and stance (my '02 sags in the arse alarmingly :? )
What suspension work have you done - I picked up some Eibachs for mine but haven't got the shocks yet - tossing up between Koni and Bili.

hi mate, it will be firing up for initial start on standard management, (wont be getting revs or driven) once i know the thing starts off the key it is getting vems managment fitted with wideband lamda and will also have extra facillities in the ecu such as launch control etc etc possibly to be used at a later date

hi mate, the car has spax adj on the rear and just cheap jamex inserts upfront at the moment , full set of 45mm springs from jaymic. if yours is down in the arse (which mine will be when the fuel tank is fitted again and full no doubt) jaymic do varied height spring pads for the rear 8)

I have seen these in Walloth parts catalogue. Measure the stock ones and they are 28mm but the catalog also listed 38mm variety.
Will have to see how the Eibach set up goes.
Still undecided between Bilstein B6 or Koni Reds :?
Any thoughts - it will be 99% street use and maybe the odd BMW Club Track Day.
PS: Loving the thread, keep it coming - really inspiring me to tidy up my '02. So far have only found very minor rust in front cross member (under rad), rear exhaust hanger and front spoiler so doubt I will go full strip respray at this stage.

Holy crap, that looks awesome.

I myself would have kept the Yellow and black paint job, love that livery on these cars, but each to their own, and the Alpina livery looks good. I've often thought about one of these with an M42 in, let alone turbo'ing it!
