You won't get logged on the SORN computer until the beginning of the month following the one in which you need to tax it.
Things can get confusing if you try to un SORN it in the same month as it's SORNed.

Sorry to hear about this Rob hope you get the old girl sorted and looking as she should, some dodgey ass repairers out there aren't there.
Got a question for you too mate, the inner arches where did you get them & how much they going to sting me? need some for my 2 door 320i Se poor girl got cancer of the rear arches due to some cowboy repair in her past so wont to do it propperly this time.
If I can hep you out with any bit's let me know m8.

Cheers Des.
Re inner arches, mine came from Cotswolds, in Genuine BMW PARTS forum.
Not sure if the the inners are Cab specific, but if you find the part Nos on Realoem,
i have an inner inner arch, and an inner outer arch part here if needed.

Wonder if they will remain friends of his when the paint starts peeling off their cars as it will with prep work like that.whipsey wrote:also just so you know rob usernames on the other forum space cadet and chris h are both freinds of steve
Dang shame they locked it before I got on there Rob cause I would have pointed out a few things to them like
to Big Dan's comment
"so there is defonutly somebody stiring this up then as people have said before this is a friendly site and people to share good and bad news not for petty slagging matches if that is all you are here for then maybe you should leave if not i will !!!!!!"
mmmm is this workmanship not bad news to anyone who has had their car done by him, just because other cars got finished so that they didn't have to strip them down and start over to find all the bodgit work done.

Re SORN, looks like i,m ok for up to 14 days.
When SORN isn't needed
SORN isn’t needed if:
you sell the vehicle
you scrap the vehicle or pass it to a scrap dealer
your insurance company has written off the vehicle
you take the vehicle abroad permanently
you apply for a refund of vehicle tax and don’t keep the vehicle
you are keeping the vehicle off the road and untaxed for less than 14 days
your vehicle was last taxed before 31 January.

Got loads, both of car and new shiny, plasticy bloody expensive bits.
Alas , for reasons known only to the strange and malevoent Pixie that resides
rent free in my puter, my Camera download shit is,nt being recognised atm.
Bear with me, i want to post pics more than you desire to view them
Been over most of the day trying to match numerous bolts, clips, screws etc,
with bits of metal and holes.
It,s slowly taking shape and i,ve got to say i am loving the way it,s starting to look.

Seems i,ve lost a whole bunch of pics, which has majorly pissed me off.
Stuck a new memory card in Camera today and it seems to have sorted whatever the problem
was

Progress putting it all back together is painfully slow, due to
missing, broken or damaged bits. Stuck the decent wheels
and tyres on today, discovering in the process that the ones
we removed had only two bolts per wheel, and some of them
were,nt even finger tight
. I dread to think what would have happened if it had been me that drove it after The Twat had abandoned it. The mood i was in i would,nt have been driving
sedately that,s for sure. Also got the softop back on, sort of,
there are a couple of nuts ,bots and spacers missing.
Luckily the roof is going to be ok, was mainly covered in dust
and not overspray. Rear lights, Doors, indicators back on
and all working correctly, locks, bootlid, wipers and Horseshoe going on soon and then it,s MOT time.
Only putting the bare minimum needed for the MOT on,
then i,ll be bringing it home and replacing all the missing broken
stuff.
On a brighter note, a whole host of new bits are awaiting installation.

Apolgys for lack of pictures, i actually forot to take any
today, until i was pulling out of the Yard.
Will take plenty
soon as i get there next time.
Btw, the Door is,nt closed properly in the last pic, hence it appearing not to line up as it should.
Oh, and even the fecking Fuel cap has gone awol.

Your turning into a proper homo taking pics of bags of bits
My stupid missus popped round my garage the other day for something and left some nice shiney screws on the floor, one of my brand new Proxies now needs a repair
Paint on of your old BBS wheels gold and see what she looks like on the car with that nice new Red paint

Would be easier if some kind soul photo ( Ollie ) shopped it Chris.
Bad news re tyre mate, thats what you get for having a Screw on the garage floor though.
Cheers Dezzy, tbh it,s hard work, been doing nights for the last 9 shifts and it,s a bit disheartening when your,s staring at a cab floor full of bits after an hour or 2,s kip.
Took the carpet out today too, a couple of tiny paint stains on it, but think it,s saveable.

Rob, i've started stripping my chromie cab to do bits n bobs, if you need anything to get you through your mot your more than welcome to pop down and borrow them till you get sorted. Glad your getting near the end of your nightmare, motor looks lovely.
Rob looking good. My money is on the pics being on the camera and not the memory card.
