tyre sizes on17' alpina reps

hopefully gettin bk 171 alpina reps in the near future. whats widest tyre u can run on theese wheels as the overall diameter of 225 40 17 is only 2mm off standard 195 65 14. would there be any disadvantage in having this wide of a tyre

225 is 30mm wider than 195, so the fronts may rub (depending on your offset and alloy type)

but seeing as u are putting the bkԚ´s then dont have 225s on the front as they do rub .. badly

depends on how low you are going, i was on -40 springs and the 225' s rubbed slightly on full lock,had to change to 205x40x17 when i dropped to -60.

very true fuzzy, forgot totally about that.

the lower the arch the less clearance on lock u will have, but i have 40 mm on the front and rear i think and 215 40 17 never rubbed and yup are 171Ԛ´s

johnono your 225's look perfect on the 171's would 2o5 45 17 up front look a bit stretched

your right,they are a bit streched but i chose the 205x40x17s purely on looks, i prefer a thin band of rubber than a big sidewall
