Have come across this front bar for sale. The vendor isn't sure if it fits an early or late model E30, but thinks early. Looks like late to me.

Anyone able to help?

I would have guessed late also.. only because of the angle on the upper section, looks like it's not the right-angle that you would expect for S1 fogs.

Thanks for the help. Have since googled 'Alpina type 137' and have seen a pic now of how it looks and I can now see how it fits a series 1.

Cheers

you can fit is on your white car in the sig if you find the earlier type metal lower valance. its only bolted on, the the alpina cow catcher is fixed on to that

The earlier metal type valance already lurks underneath! I am only considering it as the Hartge front bar I have on it has had a hard life and is virtually irreplaceable here in the Antipodes.

If I can run the Alpina one (albeit on a Hartge!?) I can keep the original and proper one safe and sound!

Cheers

Is your early Hartge front valance fibregash? if so it is easily repairable and can be made very strong indeed, infact they can be repaired hundreds of times if need be, that is the benefit of them not being plastic. Don't put the Alpina valance on your Hartge :nono:

It is an original Hartge valance. It is sort of bendy, certainly not plastic but I am not sure if it is fibreglass. It has been repaired many times. I ended up spending around 1000 pounds on having it stripped, repaired (many hours of trial and error to get it right) and painted last time!

I would rather not go with the Alpina front, but want to fit something and would like to protect the Hartge.

And over here, no-one would know the difference ...
