Funny how there will always be dirty scum around who will do this to someones car. I don't even have any enemies that I know of.

Anybody got any idea how much it would cost to get the bonnet resprayed? I'm guessing a second hand bonnet would be cheaper, but that's a matter of when there is some around. There is also a line on the N/S wing.

I'm in Telford, if anybody has any experience with any paintwork shops around there.

It's a shame I can't admit what I'd do to the scum who did this on a forum.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Talk about gutted mate!! A paintshop shouldnt charge over the top as all they need to do is lightly abrade the good areas then feather in the edges where the paintstripper is. They'll need etch primer, high build and then the coulour. Or you could just go down the replacement bonnet route. Saves alot of hassle.

sorry about that! looked like your paint was in good nick too!

is the second pic your sun roof? if so liuckily it looks like major damage on the SR panel not the roof.

two/three routes you can go down
1. buy a new bonnet and sunroof panel in correct colour.
2. find a local body shop and ask them to spray and cut/polish only, you do the prep work and remove the panels and buy the paint. you can touch up the roof area your self. this will save you loads of money
3. bonnet is nackered now - have a go at spraying it yourself..it cannot get any worse!

Second hand bonnet is the cheaper way farward. For a good paintshop to paint a bonnet inside and out you would be lucky to see change out of 200 notes. Second hand bonnets 3
£30-£50.

I just don't get what's funny about doing stuff like this. We have all been kids but paint stripper!!!
I only wish you could catch them at it.

Dude that sucks, I'd want blood
Secondhand bonnet should be cheaper that repainting, depends if you want to keep original? Painting shouldn't be end of world ££

Liam, that sucks mate!!! Bar-stewards...

Whereabouts in Telford are you? I can recommend a great paint shop - Dream Finish, based at Halesfield. Mick has been painting my cars for years and years.

I'm in Shawbirch, let me know how you get on. Good luck.

That's bollox!!! Replacement s/h panels would be the best way forward.

Why would someone do such a thing? I've seen key marks and every type of car from £200 Fiestas right up to expensive car but regardless of cost cars are peoples pride and joy.

Touch wood I've only had one car keyed, I knew who did it.

The 2nd picture is of the N/S wing where some had dipped down from the bonnet, so this will need fixing also, but it's not as noticeable as the bonnet so want to get that done first. The car will look good from at least one side then :D

I have a feeling it's a bunch of little scrotes who have done this, if so I know where their parents are. I been told 2 other cars near it have been done too. I'm still at uni, so I haven't seen the damage in the flesh yet. Mates went up and took pictures of the damage for me. All my exes live a good distance away, and they'd have no way of knowing it was my car.

I have a car cover, doesn't sound like a bad idea to have it on now.

And when I get home I'll give that Dream Finish place and ask for a quote, hopefully won't be too steep!
Seen a couple of black E30s for spares on ebay but no one is getting back to me on a bonnet. :(

It happened in the top end of Aqueduct. Been told apparently a load of other cars got done in the same night as well down the same street. I know that people from Dawley walk through my road alot, possibly to get down to Woodside.

Police said it was most definitely done at random, and there wouldn't have been a personal motive behind it.

Just crap luck I guess. When I catch them, I am going to have alot of fun.

sorry to hear about this mate, bucking fastards eh

my old street in kelty used to see a lot of car vandalism happen, the first time every wing mirror in the street was kicked off apart from my then 2 door 325i at the time, then most of the cars were keyed apart from my then e34 535, and a third time almost all the cars were keyed again with big x marks on the bonnets apart from my then e36 318is coupe, but my first e30 tourer 318i which id only had about two days got keyed all the way down one side :-x

I think you should set up an automatic sentry gun outside of your window, that will teach the little ****s!

And a brief update, turns out the people who did it were a load of chavs on mopeds squirting it on any car they whizzed past.
One of my neighbors spoke to someone who had caught a glimpse of them in the act, before they scurried off.

At least I know it wasn't some mad ex or something

If you've had paintstripper problems down there it probably will be the same people, I know that chavs like to ride down the Silkin Way, which makes it really quick to get between Aqueduct, Madeley and Sutton Hill.

Time for a cheesewire trap?

winkeye

I'd like to thank everybody for the advice they have given, after biding my time I've managed to find a replacement bonnet from a good bloke off here, so when that is fitted the worst part of the damage will be gone. :D
