my intensive wash wipe is slightly insane. when i run the 'normal' washers, the fluid passes through the hoses and backs up into the intensive wash wipe bottle. the reverse happens when i use the intensive wash.

i assumed the hoses from pumps to jets both needed non-return valves fitting, mine having none. i went to bmw and asked for them. i got 2 new valves (B61.66.1.368.299 according to my invoice) and fitted them. they're white plastic, cylindrical and about 20mm diameter and 40mm long, inc tubes.

now, nothing has changed!!! i've tried the valves both ways round but no change.

any ideas?

is there another valve i need?

The valves should have three exits.

pics? 8O :)

looks like the chappie looked up the wrong bit then. any ideas how it should work? eg, what to connect to? 3 ports seems a bit odd?

They both go underneath the rear of the bonnet, half way between the two washer jets and double up as the tee pieces.
Don't see why double ended inline valves and seperate tees wouldn't work though.

ahhhhh. i see.

mine is just tee pieces!

i thought the non return valves would work but they don't seem to do anything! the pumps have enough welley to blow through them both ways!

The non-return T piece valves go on the underside of the bonnet near the washer jets, that's true.

You should have two T-piece non-return valves with the intensive system. There's only one way you can fit them as well... the 'water in' goes in the upright part, while the 'water out' goes on the two horizontal parts.

Also you'll need two other T pieces to connect the water pipes up to the washers themselves as you'll have two pipes trying to connect to the washer jets AFTER the non-return valves...

You got all that?
