would i get alpina lovers and M30 haterz huting me down and killing me if i bought and fragged the rough one just for the engine?bss325i wrote:They have 254bhp and similar torque.
out of interest, do you know what modifications were done to reach 254bhp? IIRC, andy335touring had an alpina bottom end with different piston crowns that wouldn't clear the standard head...?

The spec of the engine was Forged high comp pistons, S38/M88 conrods, worked head with hemi combustion chambers, 268 degree cam, alpina exhaust and remaped ECU.

Fancy thatm Gareth, ImMY, and I have the same thoughts, I think the first one Barry is only worth the engine, and frag the rest.

Dont you mean why are there so many ropey Alpinas?Blitz wrote:Why are there so many ropey E34 Alpina's?
Answer, the like M power cars, attract scummers.
1) I agree ,,, unbeliveble good looking , and cloth seats , i like that ,ImysE30 wrote:The 2nd one is utterly stunning, very nice
Did these have more power than the standard 535i?
2) yes it is a faster car vs oem 535
3) if you want a great E34 buy a M5,, a lot quicker and more agressive drivers car vs B10 3.5
4) If you want to buy the GREATEST E34 ever made ,,, then search for an ALPINA B10 BITURBO,,
that car smokes the M5 so far in the forest that Robin Hood would not even find it,,
hillarius straight line performance,,(( remind the car is launched 1989)) and 180 mph on GPS
A stunning status symbol
