what was "silly money" ? Under £160 I'd bite their arm off, but put GENUINE in there , no pattern shite unless guaranteed OEM maker and quality.

they are no fun do do on the car, but press is not compulsory.

heavy slide hammer, some decent tools, and half a clue will see you DIY, just allow ALL weekend can they can be a coont.

Enjoy...... :D

The best thing to do is remove the swing arms yourself and take them to a garage with a press. Once the old are out and the new have been pressed in, refit the arms...it'll probably only set you back £20 :D

Doing it yourself without a press can be done, and i've done it. Never again!

Fronts are easy, Remove wheel, Caliper and Disc. Then pop off the dust cap, undo one nut, 36mm? from memory and tap bearing hub off. Refit is reverse. Wise to torque nut.

When i bought my e30 it had failed the safety certificate due to a worn rear wheel bearing. It had a reciept for the labour (Owner supplied bearing) for $76.00 Australian!!. I have replaced plenty of e30 rear wheel bearings and you can not do it for such a low price. think the workshop must have mis estimated it and stayed with the quote as goodwill.

Greg

Fronts are easy, mainly because the bearing and hub face etc is a complete unit. The rears on mine were a nightmare.
