M3 engine arms

Does any one know if m3 engine arms are different?

Installed the AKG mounts last night and it appears the sump will be sitting on the sub frame before the arms sit on the mounts.

Real OEM lists a different part number but thought it was just becuase of the heat sheild.

If anyone can confirm or deny that they are the same before I burn the fecker down.

Different to what?

Ive used the M3 arms on mine, but then they are fitted to an M3 engine and Ive just realised youve posted in the M50/M52 section

I think he means because the AKG mounts are used for S50 engines more than M50's

They are quite short

You wouldn't have a set of m50/52 arms knocking around would you Dan?

Or some to take pictures next to a ruler with, because something is not stacking up.

What problems are you having?

Unless I am being really stupid, the engine won't sit on the mounts at all, let alone enough to start causing me problems!

i had major issues getting the mounts to sit on the subframe. i finally got them on then i found out the rack return hose was not going to fit in its original place, not even close (not tomention the feed hose is fucking miles short, even though i read on here it would fit). the rack is touching the sump also. the rear exhaust manifold is being a real fucker, it fouled the top UJ so much i felt like smashing it flat.

im still deliberating my next move on that one.

tonight i only just realise the heater matrix top stub is pretty much holding the inlet manifold up....it wont move a millimetre so must be under major tension.....at that point i began to wonder if the AKG mounts were too small and had lowered the engine by far more than i wanted. i closed the bonnet and fucked off inside as i didn't want to check the sump/crossmember clearance (amazingly i forgot to check the sump before) and end up in possibly the biggest rage i've ever been in......and fuck me i've had some good ones over the years.

Sounds like me last night. I hope they work as they were rather pricey for a block of plastic with a bolt through it!

me too. you can't even space the arm out at the top cos they have made the thread very short on the top. the nylock only just sits on the thread as it is.
